Dating in Latin America

Passport Bros, Anyone else notice this dating in Latin America?

Been dating Latin American women for a while now (usually date white women, so this has been a nice change) and having good luck overall. But I keep running into the assumption that being American = being rich.

Two examples:

  1. **CDMX** — Girl says she's cold, wants a sweater. I suggest a thrift store (like a Goodwill equivalent). She goes straight for the priciest leather jacket in the store. I say no, we agreed on a sweater. She gets annoyed.

  2. **Medellín** — Out for drinks, she picks the bar. I'm sticking to cheap beer since I don't know the scene. She orders four straight shots of top-shelf tequila, $125 each. Bill was insane compared to my $10 beer.

For context, I'm a physician but pretty frugal — thrift store guy, don't do name brands, think overpaying for status items is a waste of money.

Curious if this is a common pattern or if I've just had bad luck. Anyone else run into this? Honest experiences welcome.

Columbia cartagena

So I'm currently in Catagena, Columbia, using voice dictation because apparently I don't deserve to travel if I can't spell like a functioning adult. I know the forum's gonna flip on me for the typos, so consider this my preemptive apology to the grammar police. I left Mecico City behind chasing something better, and honestly, I think I found it.

To the harsh critics who are already sharpening their pitchforks: I apologize in advance for the brevity and any typos that slip through. My voice-to-text app and I are still working out our relationship. Anyway, the beatiful women here have made the whole trip worth it so far. Anywho I absolutely love Columbian women. ❤️ 🇨🇴

Columbia

Hey brothers, I'm getting ready to go to Columbia. I know there has been some earthquakes but I don't think it's affecting where I'm going. I'm going to median and Cartagena. Any words of wisdom before I embark on wednesday. I am absolutely loving Mexico City. It reminds me of manhattan. Very safe City. It is very gentrified. But overall safe. I will give my summary in the coming days.

Guadalajara

Guys dont sleep on this city. Some baddies here. Very friendly people. Check out the different districts so much to see. Bring a camper photograph the beauty. I had one girl come up to me when I was taking photos and asked if she could see my photos. She is into photography then we took photos together and have been chilling my entire time. I didn't even have to use a daring app. Now going to mexico city for 5 days. This is such a cool experience to date girls from different countries/cities. The women are different than back the in the states. Also the people are more involved in the social scene here. Because data plans can be expensive they aren't constantly mindlessly scrolling on the phone like the nightlife scene in the states is. Keep on keepin!!!

Taxi scams guadalajara

I just got to guadalajara last night. Group of cap drivers to greet me at the airport. Hopped in a cab overly friendly. We walked a short way away from the airport. I got in and he said the meter was broken. I am staying in central district 28 minute ride. He said it was 3,800 pesos. I argued with him that I wasn't paying. It was middle of night. Finally just paid him 130 USD to leave me alone. Watch out for the cab drivers here they are scamming.

Motels

Does anybody know anything about suburban motel sign? It's right next to the red lotus motel. Anyways that place looks sketchy. I still can't figure out what the difference is between the two.
