when the carfax report doesn't match the fb marketplace ad?

this is a weird one. the dude selling the car seemed nice enough, but he claimed the car has been in his family for years with just two owners, whereas carfax showed 5 owners, with the last purchase being a year ago. there have been no accidents reported. the car is in decent shape. what's the point of making things up, especially if things can be disproven by records?

should i send a thank you?

i was abruptly let go from a temporary assignment. i appreciated my experiences there and am tempted to send a note of thanks to the women who hired me even thought they let me go. i suspect it may have been for fishy reasons, though i have no intention of asking them why they let me go and i have no desire to argue with them. what do people think of this? have you ever received a note like this as a manager after you let someone go?

These days, I get a scolding by Hertz every time I refuse their insurance, and it seems like they’re now fine with full-on insulting me as well, i.e. telling me I don't understand anything about insurance or the policies I purchased outside of Hertz. Anyone else experiencing this?

social skills, i don't have them. i'm about two weeks into a job, and everyone at work dislikes me. some people are unprofessional enough to outwardly show disrespect. am i supposed to be reading between the lines and quitting?

even if the person running the org might not want that at the moment or be fully aware that i'm disliked, do i give into the social darwinism for everyone else's sake? some people might say it really depends on my financial situation, but i don't have any dependents and don't care about my own longevity. i sincerely don't know what i'm supposed to do.
