Starting my collection

I’ve been looking to add a wristlet to my bag collection, and that search sent me straight down the vintage Coach rabbit hole. I realized I like the look and feel of glovetanned leather, only to find out that modern Coach only produces outlet wristlets, which wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. They’re still great quality and I bought one too. The vintage Travel Collection caught my eye, and the 9972 model turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

I started with black, then picked up British Tan, and then mahogany. Two of them are from 1996, and the British Tan is from 2000, so these are genuinely well-aged pieces.

I’ve already done some conditioning on all three and may need to re-glue a few tags. I’m also planning to brighten up the brass hardware a bit. Small touch-ups, but worth it.

I’ve never owned wristlets before, but I’m planning to use these in more professional settings. Honestly though, I’m just going to wear them into the ground. I love them that way.

New to collecting

As someone who really cares about leather quality and feel, I quickly realized that modern Coach only produces outlet wristlets, which wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. Hi All,

I have been lurking for a while watching all of your incredible bags. I decided to start to dip my toe into changing my work bag up.

First up we have a “helmet style” bag from John Varvatos. Calf skin, gun metal hardware. Very nicely made. The interesting thing about this bag is that it tapers from turn bottom up going from 5 inches wide to 2 inches at the top. Comes with a crossbody strap

2nd offering is a Coach metropolitan tote in glovetanned leather. It’s a medium sized tote, that is really nice. Comes with a button on the straps for a shoulder carry and also has a nylon crossbody strap.

Thoughts?
