Hat gauge question
I started knitting the bewind hat (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bewind-hat). I cast on 96 stitched with a worsted weight yarn to create an adult medium (for a 22” head circumference). However, once I started knitting the pattern, I was only getting about 14 inches of circumference. My gauge was slightly larger than the recommended gauge (recommended is 6 stiches/inch, I was around 7). I’ve frogged and am getting ready to recast, however, I’m wondering if I should recast a larger number of stitches, using my original measurements to create the measurements I want, or if I should switch to a larger needle.
I know this is a rookie question, I’m just looking for a more experienced opinion. Thanks so much!
