Hat gauge question

Hat gauge question

I started knitting the bewind hat (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bewind-hat). I cast on 96 stitched with a worsted weight yarn to create an adult medium (for a 22” head circumference). However, once I started knitting the pattern, I was only getting about 14 inches of circumference. My gauge was slightly larger than the recommended gauge (recommended is 6 stiches/inch, I was around 7). I’ve frogged and am getting ready to recast, however, I’m wondering if I should recast a larger number of stitches, using my original measurements to create the measurements I want, or if I should switch to a larger needle.

I know this is a rookie question, I’m just looking for a more experienced opinion. Thanks so much!

Are there any for hire lifeguard services in PDX?

We recently moved into a house with a pool and have finally gotten the yard ready for hosting. Since it’s going to be hot next weekend, we were considering having a pool party for some of my 1st graders friends.

Does anyone know if there is a service in the area to hire a lifeguard for a private party? I’m concerned that parents will be socializing and be less attentive than they should be in the pool.

Question about Cabbage Patch stitch

Has anyone used this stitch? I think it looks really pretty, but I can’t figure out what you are supposed to do in row 3! All the youtube videos I saw are using crochet to make this stitch.
