Today I learned something surprisingly useful — you can still use the 3D Rigging Package with 2D IK

I'm making an indie MMO & just released its announce trailer. Is this for you or nah?

I've been working on this for a LONG time and am starting to put it out into the world 😄 I honestly just want to hear what you guys think -- it's a side-scrolling MMO taking inspiration from games like MapleStory and Ragnarok Online, however it's not mean to be a direct descendent of either. I really want it to stand alone as its own thing.

I'm also scheduling its first playtest, in July! You can find more content + the discord, here: https://kalmiaonline.com

My friend is saying this is exceptional engagement for a TikTok ad, is that true + how do I capitalize?

I had a post that did pretty well organically and then I decided to promote it, and now it’s…. still doing really well. It’s consistently hitting a 30% like rate after multiple promotions, which my friend is saying he’s never seen before. It’s a 7 second video and I’m showing it to a US 18-34 audience. The video is related to my product but it doesn’t have a clear CTA in it. My goal is to get more people to join my product‘s discord server, is there a way to angle this video towards that? Knowing that I’ll still be posting new creatives either way.

Wish there were more side-scrolling MMOs, so I decided to make my own.

I honestly never understood why side-scrolling MMOs weren't more popular. I think the format is super approachable from a developer standpoint (with of course a few drawbacks) -- and if you look at MapleStory in particular, it's clear that people really do love them.

The game itself takes a lot of inspiration from Ragnarok Online and, of course, MapleStory, but it isn't meant to be a direct descendent of either. There's no Pay to Win or Gacha and the phrase "auto-play" isn’t even in my vocabulary. IMO a lot of the MMOs that have come out in the past five years just... aren't very fun, and I'm hoping to take this in a direction that I think is :)

I understand that smaller indie efforts like this require a lot of trust from the community because, frankly, a lot of them peter out, but I'm hoping that a) people like the direction that this is going in to begin with (big prayers there lol) and that b) with a steady cadence of playtests, we'll be able to refine things down together as a community.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll get around to responding to them! If you'd like, you can join the discord for more information on the playtest: https://links.kalmia.online
