What’s the diff between this and sociology stat for soc sci?

I fail to understand and can’t find any relevant courses (class is still tbh) online. I can find slot of stats 101 in khan, and was actually 2 units in. I’m not the best with math so I’m taking an alt class my colleges are now offering, pass either this sociology “stat for soc sci” course or statistics.

Can anyone show me a sample question? I know for stats I can just paste a graph and ask for the median mode etc. In this course is it more written or explain this and that? If so idk how this is supposed to be easier. I enjoyed a logic class but I struggled with that one. Just want to make sure I can study before taking this sociology for stat soc science course at my local college. How far is it from statistics?

Mitrar Hoshiar Soc 125 for statis?

Taking a shot at Soc 125 instead of stat c1000 or stat 101.

It’s the only online and course that counts as a maths transfer BA for comms 2.0 at a CSU.

Is her online course hell? It’s the only 125 in all of lacc. And it’s a 8 week short course lol thoughts?

Socio 125 or stats c1000? Which is harder to easiest?

Which one did you actually like? Comms 2.0 only now requires you pick one for a CSU BA

Lots of people saying soc 125 is vague but easy opposite to stats c1000, the latter feels better if you Aced calculus. Which (calc) is not required for BAs like comms.

Which one did you pick? Which one is better for the non math person?

Anyone on Comms 2.0 for BA? Does sociology 125 satisfy math?

With the new implantation for comms 2.0 you either need to complete stats or stats c1000

I just read that you can also just take sociology 125. Passing one from these three satisfies your mathematics and that you’ll never have to touch math in CSUN, it’s just hard to believe it’s true, is it? What’s the catch?

Anyone on path for comms 2.0 or graduated? How were the classes, were there any curve balls you didn’t expect? Would you pursue an MA after?

Is it true you can now just take soc 125 and be done with maths forever for a BA?

Speaking with a counselor recently, he mentioned that I could have just also taken 1 class of sociology 125 and I'm done with math anywhere.

I'm only planning on the 2nd lowest rung of the ladder in CSUN's communications BA (by AA-T), think it's better than just sociology. And you both get an AA and a BA. That's $5 more on your per hour for office day jobs.

Also this is becuase after colleges like LAVC and Pierce College changed their requirements after COVID, and that for majors like communications or sociology, you no longer need years of math up through calculus like people used to. Supposedly now it’s either stats or soc 125, true or not???

How much math did you really need for your BA, and what major are you in? I've never been a STEM student so this is possibly the best option anyone can get, plus if you top it off with some certificates like HR or similar, it's already foot in the door because you auto bypass the BA filter. Am I just being naive? Had a feeling my counselor was sort of laughing at me

What’s even better is that you used to be required to take 4-5 classes of maths, which is 2yrs

Anyone else going back to college after quitting because of Covid?

I hope this post is allowed because I want to have a discussion on the college landscape of the valley. This sub hits a younger age demographic and I tried in Nextdoor with no one knowing what to say.

Have you signed up for classes?

Did you know you can take lavc or pierce college for a year or year and a half and get a BA in less than 2 yrs? (Provided you do most at full time) you can even waive your tuition easily in sfv community colleges as their system is revamped and all colleges have struggled to retain students after covid. My aunt only had an AA, she’s well into her mid 40s and was sick of her daily admin assistant job. She started 2 yrs ago and now on her way for a masters in csun through her BA in comms and may even get UCLA credits. This basically got her $27 per hour to $55. Though she did Human Resources cert on top of it, but she’s now working HR for the Getty and she just posts her dailies of the tram, im envious.

What’s even better is that you used to be required to take 4-5 classes of maths, which is 2yrs for a degree. The maths up to calculus was a requirement. Now you only need statistics at a CCollege (pierce or lavc) one statics course, and you can take it for free after getting it all waived, there will be online courses with open book, just depend on which profession you pick. Anyone can start at any age. If you really suck at maths, you can even just take sociology 125 which is more logic based. Provided that you’re only getting a BA in either communications or sociology. And I’ll honestly say most big companies just use a BA as a filter. But that’s it!! Anyone else excited for this and have gone back to school or even finished it like how my aunt did?? If so, what major? And what’s your highest requirement for maths?

You mean I can just pass stats and get a BA, without having to maths in CSUN?

I kind of gave up because I need alg 2, calc, stats, finance marketing, also because I was gunning for CSUNs business BA. I also didn’t know I had to take more arithmetics in CSUN.

Switched to comms major, prob the lowest rung of AA-T, BA but this was still before the revamped system. I still needed 2-3 semesters worth of maths. I’ve tackled most requirements and can get dual AA, is it true I can now only just survive stats and I’ll be good to go in CSUN. Most classes I can do, besides maths. Is a C good enough?

I have a BA in 6 months if I go full time. Most white collar entry junior level jobs don’t even specific BA type anymore, they’re all just using it as a filter. At the same time, I know BA business holders who are in big co’s who do not even know photoshop. But I know it’s worth getting. Is stays the only boss I have?
