Lots of people saying soc 125 is vague but easy opposite to stats c1000, the latter feels better if you Aced calculus. Which (calc) is not required for BAs like comms.

I recently got accepted into the LACC (Los Angeles City College) nursing program for Fall 2026. I’m hoping to hear some honest feedback about the program and your experience there, it would really help a lot!! Anything helps:))

hello, I need to enroll in two classes. The more basic one is waitlisted where I am third in line, but in the class description it says you must enroll in the other class within the same purchase. Laccd won’t let me enroll in the other class, (open or waitlist) I’m assuming because the first is a waitlist. Does anyone know if I will even be able to be accepted into the first one then, so I can join the second after? Or will It not let me in since the other is a corequisite?

I plan on calling the school again but I thought I’d ask here because for some reason it feels like Laccd never answers. Maybe I’m calling at the wrong time. There is also no online counseling appointments available😭?

How does his online tests work, cameras required? Proctored tests? Anything?

Has anyones has been processed? Do you have holds in your account? Mine says I owe classes and I haven't completed the FA application. Which I have and now I have a hold since the waver hasn't kicked in. Anyone else?

Do we know if classes will still be open on Wednesday? The smoke smell got really bad and I’m wondering what yall think about classes tomorrow.

I kind of gave up because I need alg 2, calc, stats, finance marketing, also because I was gunning for CSUNs business BA. I also didn’t know I had to take more arithmetics in CSUN.

Switched to comms major, prob the lowest rung of AA-T, BA but this was still before the revamped system. I still needed 2-3 semesters worth of maths. I’ve tackled most requirements and can get dual AA, is it true I can now only just survive stats and I’ll be good to go in CSUN. Most classes I can do, besides maths. Is a C good enough?

I have a BA in 6 months if I go full time. Most white collar entry junior level jobs don’t even specific BA type anymore, they’re all just using it as a filter. At the same time, I know BA business holders who are in big co’s who do not even know photoshop. But I know it’s worth getting. Is stays the only boss I have?

The District has cancelled the May 19^(th) Disenrollment Date.

If you have completed a 2026-2027 FAFSA, the District office will be processing the new applications in the next 1-2 weeks.

Hello! I just got told my student loans were approved so I’m wondering how long for a payment? I got more back than my tuition cost.

Is anyone else still waiting for financial aide to post? Summer fees are due tomorrow and it's still showing no aide for 2026-2027. I really can't pay tuition right now and I'm afraid of being dropped if aide doesn't come in on time.

Just want to take a moment to congratulate everyone that will be graduating in a few weeks! I’m happy and sad that my time at WLAC is finally coming to an end.

sorry if this has prob been asked before but im a new student trying to enroll in summer classes at elac for the first time. I just finished doing all the transcript and counselor appt and orientation stuff for elac, but harbor had an online class i wanted to take. Am i gonna have to fill out an app and do the orientation and counselor stuff at harbor again, or is it covered by the elac stuff since theyre both part of laccd? Tysm

I’m planning to switch to another community college, probably one of the LACCD schools (I’ve been looking at LACC). I mostly take online classes, but I’ve gone to SMC before. At SMC the Pell grant disbursements always felt kinda slow, random, and late asf. I’ve heard LACCD schools are more on time and consistent with financial aid, is that actually true?

I’m also planning to take summer classes from June to July. Do LACCD schools (or LACC specifically) split summer Pell into two payments or do you get it all at once? At SMC I remember getting summer Pell in one lump sum. Just trying to plan ahead because books are expensive lol.

Basically, I found out I don’t qualify for the tuition waiver/programs people told me about. I’m not undocumented, so I can’t get the undocumented tuition waiver, and I also don’t qualify for LAUSD Promise because apparently I haven’t been here long enough (I’m a recent immigrant).

Now I’m confused about enrollment. Can I still enroll in classes even if I haven’t paid tuition yet? Or do I have to fully pay first before I’m allowed to register for classes? And how do I enroll to classes? (for the fall semester btw)

Another thing is that financial aid would most likely be paying for my tuition fee alone, so now I’m worried if I have to wait for financial aid first before I can even enroll into classes, or if I’m supposed to somehow pay the tuition first before registering.

Another problem is I think my student account might be locked because I haven’t logged in for a while, so now I can’t even tell what’s going on with my portal.
I genuinely don’t know how community college enrollment works at all and nobody in my family really studied in America so they don’t know how to help me.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Especially as a first-time student/high school senior? What should I do first:

• unlock my account,
• talk to financial aid,
• or try enrolling in classes first?

I’m scared classes are going to fill up while I’m trying to figure everything  out.

I’ll be taking 8 units this summer all during the first half of summer. This may sound dumb but do you need to take the max 9 units during the summer to receive the summer Pell grant?
