Hey guys, I was wondering if any other Pierce students have had their degree(s) awarded or the IGETC certification awarded. My petition to graduate still says 'Accepted: Evaluation in Progress', so I'm wondering if I should reach out.
For context, I submitted the petition on 3/24, and my final grades were all in by 6/24 (a prof was late putting in grades).
Anyone know if its possible to receive the student success grant from spring 2026 during fall 2026? i did a SAP appeal on march and it got approved and I took the classes that I was supposed to take. However due to an error which is that my SAP contract had me taking STATS C1000 but before that SAP appeal I was already enrolled in STATS C100E both being intro to stats. This caused my units to be 11 instead of 15 in the system. Which financial aid and myself did not notice till the last week the semester to which they fixed that issue and it got approved. However they said at that point they had ran out of funds. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to get these funds in the fall?
Anybody know how long the appeal process usually takes and how strict it is? Trying to have my fafsa reinstated for fall 26
I’m thinking of taking comm 104 in spring. I think afterwards I may do forensics. Is the forensics club at pierce appropriate for a guy between ages 28 and 32?
And if not, what do you recommend instead?
Anyone know how to schedule a meeting w an advisor so I can get my academic plan? Everytime I check cranium cafe the meetings are booked for weeks .
So I want to build debate and research skills. I am an electronics major and I'm taking a locksmithing class this Fall. I am looking to improve my argumentation and research skills on the side. I want to be able to research political issues, make up my mind about what I think, and defend it. I was thinking of starting with Phil 020 maybe? I may or may not take it this fall but if not maybe I'll take the semester after.
What research skills are taught in philosophy and how do I apply it in the real world? it says on the LA Pierce College Philosophy flyer that research skills are taught in class.

I’m interested in creating a club for queer people in STEM, though ik creating a club isn’t that easy.
However if a school club doesn’t work, perhaps meeting outside near campus would work?

What does SSCG look like for this district? Do students receive this grant here, are the disbursements delayed?, do they run out of funds?
Also is it normal for it to be visible on the award letter? I have 15+ units.
I have no tasks on my portal and am in good academic standing, so I don't know what's up. I'm a little scared of course because it's my academic standing on the line if this is real and I have nobody to verify this with until Monday. I am still skeptical though.

I’m a freshman this fall at LAPC. I’m majoring in CS but I want to double major in Econ, data science, accounting, finance, cybersecurity, math, or psychology. Is it possible to double major at LAPC?
I was wondering if anyone has taken this class (asynchronous) with William Lemon or Susan Elizondo. This will be my first time taking a class like this and I don’t know what to expect, mainly time commitment wise (I’m a high school student taking concurrent enrollment).
I’m looking for an easy 2-credit online class to add to my Fall schedule so I can meet the 15-unit requirement. Ideally, I’m looking for something with a lighter workload since I already have a full schedule.
I’m in a pretty difficult financial situation right now, and reaching 15 units would make a meaningful difference in the amount of financial aid I receive. If taking two extra credits helps me stay housed and financially stable, then so be it. I’ll make it work.

Hi! I’m a new student at Pierce College and recently switched from Pasadena City College because Pierce is closer to me and has great transfer opportunities.
But honestly… what the f** am I supposed to be doing? PCC was pretty straightforward when it came to financial aid, registration, counseling, etc. Pierce/LACCD seems like a completely different universe.
So far, I’ve completed my financial aid application and orientation, and I have my student email set up for Fall 2026. My financial aid looks like it still needs an in-person identity verification step, but other than that, I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do next.
I also haven’t registered for classes yet.
I called Pierce and explained that I’m a new student trying to figure out the enrollment process, and naturally got the “we’re very busy right now” response. 💀 I completely understand, but I’m still sitting here like… okay, so what do I do now?
For anyone who has recently gone through the process at Pierce, what order did you do everything in after applying, completing financial aid, and orientation? Do I need to meet with a counselor and create my SEP before registering, or can I register first?
