Wt Loss Client help/rant

Hi all! I have a client I’m working with for wt loss. Shes new to me as I took over care from another RD so I’ve seen her twice.

Pt is in late 50s/F, BMI 25.9 (CBW 147, goal of 130) and no other health conditions. Exercises with lifting 3x week with a trainer and jogs 3-4 x week. She has healthful meal patterns and feels she’s doing everything right. Based on her food log (just writes what she’s eating, it’s not tracking calories/macros), I think she does a good job getting protein, small carb and I mostly tell her to eat more f&v. Sometimes I actually don’t think she’s eating enough from the little food logs she has. And genuinely think she’s scared to eat more food.

I DREADDDDD talking to her. Her concerns around travels and vacationing this summer (she’s still able to maintain) but I’m just thinking wow what a fun life, just be happy and healthy. I’m not a new RD so I’ve tried to ask her more probing questions about why do you want to be at this weight so badly? How will this improve your life? I want to honor pt autonomy but omg I don’t get it and we just talk in circles. What other things do you guys recommend? Or topics of convo to have? I just haven’t worked with a client like this in a while and historically I cannot retain these clients who have similar issues/reason for visit.

Income requirements

I don’t see explicit income requirements on some of the buildings sites I’ve been looking at. Is that normal or is there some hidden thing idk about?? Concerned I won’t meet the income requirements so trying to plan ahead financially. I make 78k and credit score is low 800s. The places I’m looking at are 2300-2500k base rent. Does one just call or not know until you apply? Are there other factors that can be considered?

Pay/jobs in Chicago?

I find that our pay is variable across the nation but curious from RDs actually there. I’m planning a move there next year. I was just browsing jobs on linked in and noticed the pay is not as high as I thought, as low as $25/hr for inpatient. I noticed more jobs in the neighboring cities than the actual city? I already have a remote role but just like to know this info in case needed. Would it be hard to land a role there? Do you feel like you’re paid appropriately for COL?

Meeplus inserts for Plotter

Do the mini meeplus inserts fit in the mini 5 plotter? I saw a note on meeplus site that it might be really close to the edge or over, but the dimensions seem to be the same for the paper refills, except the paper dividers. Has anyone tried them in their plotter?

Licensure CE

If I was issues a license on a 11/2024 and they require X numbers of CE, can I use CEU that I acquired BEFORE 11/2024 or no? I’ve tried to call and so far sent an email to the board (it’s for Maryland). Just waiting a response back.

Financial enmeshment

Does anyone here financially support their family and then stopped? How did you do it and how did it go???

I want to move out and away from my parents. I’m in my early 30s and I feel I’ve never gotten the opportunity to create or live the life I want to. I want to get married but it’s hard dating and also where I live, but that shouldn’t be my “out” ya know?

Some back story: After my fam sold their motel (failing business) we lived in, I unexpectedly became the main financial support, covering most of the rent, groceries, etc. Even though I don’t make enough to comfortably support multiple adults, my parents have continued asking me for money for years, starting in grad school when dad asked for thousands from my student loan refund to pay for motel bills. They were also upset that I didn’t want to take out a mortgage for a family home, but I don’t want to put my own future and goals, like eventually having my own home and family on hold indefinitely. Just curious if anyone has been in similar situations!

South loop renting budget (cross posted)?

Hi! Planning my move for next summer and want to be prepared financially. Would love to hear from realtors or anyone with related experience on coming from out of state.

When is a good time to connect with a realtor? I have a lot of needs that I don't want to compromise on (in unit washer/dryer, parking, updated or new features/building, high rise feel with floor to ceiling windows, decent views, safety). What is a good amount to budget? Would 2600-2800 be a reasonable price for rent, parking, utilities or am I way off??

CAQH and no longer in PP

I left my telehealth PP role and don’t bill to insurance anymore so really don’t have a need for an NPI at my current work. I’m still getting emails from CAQH. I’ve changed my password (my old job had access to it). I’m still getting emails and have no idea what to do with this profile? I’m getting a little nervous with some buzz I’ve seen around liability and giving access to companies. Any tips or resources for this?

Rustic rose patina

Would love to see if anyone has rustic rose and how the patina looks so far if you’ve had it for a while! I finally decided on which size and now in between colors.

Mini notebook

Does anyone know what this mini notebook is? I came across it on Pinterest and wasn’t able to find it. I haven’t seen one like this with the binder clips and size.

CDR cert and pay raises

For RDs that have gotten CDR certifications curious to know:

  1. What setting (inpatient, telehealth, etc) are you in and was it required for the job?

  2. How much of a pay raise? Did you negotiate more?

  3. If not required, would you still have gotten it?

Cloth and paper inserts

I’m interesting in getting the pocket plus clear vinyl cover but wanted to know if there are other inserts/journals that fit into this one? I toss/recycle some of my cheap journals after I finish them so didn’t want to get the C&P pricey ones just to toss.
