The absolute steal I found yesterday

Found this beast hiding on a bottom shelf at HD yesterday when I wasn’t even looking for plants. $6! It’s quite humid where I live so I’m unsure about putting it outside & I have poor natural lighting inside, so right now it’s parked under my brightest grow light.

The young Thai con I picked up

I found this gal at Walmart and she had the prettiest variegation and was in the best shape of the handful they had. I wanted to rescue them all because they’re going to die in the pots they’re set up in but I had to pick. She was in a self watering plastic pot in absolutely saturated soil. Like could nearly pour standing water out of it.

I got rid of all the soil down to the roots, which makes me nervous, but I didn’t see anything obviously rotted. Put her in an aroid blend with orchid bark for faster drainage. The odd shadows are from the vertical standing grow light she sits in front of. I hope that one leaf eventually turns towards it. This is my first go at this so I hope I’ve set her up in good conditions. I’m aware I’ll need better support quickly but this is all I had sitting around lol. I hear they’re slower growers so I’ll try to be patient.

What variety is this?

This is in a wide east facing windowsill in the break room at work and gets several hours of morning sunshine. I want to say zebrina but my zebrina isn’t as purple as this and it also has textured leaves that almost look silvery glittery. This one has smooth leaves with no sparkle at all. The very last picture is my plant. Are there zebrina varieties too or is one of these not like the other?

I was gifted a baby Jade 💜

I’m not new to plants, but so far my “succulents” consist of a variegated string of hearts, a peperomia orba and peppera string of coins, and a kalanchoe. Thought y’all might like my tiny jade of unknown variety.

Rosie turned 14 in March. She’s so sweet and very opinionated. She’s always been a nervous little lady and darts off if visitors come around. Very chatty if you get on her good side.
