What should I know?

I officially got my positive diagnosis today? I’m obviously overwhelmed but what are some things you wish you knew after getting diagnosed?

How did you decide how much precautions you were going to take? Shared kitchen vs not. Eating products made in a factory that may contain gluten?

Do you eat gluten occasionally to prevent worse reactions in case you accidentally ingest it?

I’m also seeing a dietitian, did that help anyone?

HIDA Scan results- endoscopy next week

Alright I got my scan results back and it says that it’s working at 20% & normal is >38%. I have an endoscopy next week as well but like am I cooked??? 😭

I’m so scared for a surgery with how mixed things are. I’m also a teacher so taking off a week or possibly two sounds so annoying 🥲

DOE

I know this is very unlikely but does anyone have actual processing time for DOE educator licenses? I did an emergency last year and it approved nearly immediately and I applied for an actual one and there’s been no change over 2.5 weeks. School starts on the 11th and I’m stressed

Praxis 5038

Hi all! I’m about to take my praxis for the third time. I’ve only missed by two points both times. I’ve taken practice tests through the praxis website, bought their quizzes, used mometrix, Kathleen Jasper (coworker recommended) and then I signed up for study.com which doesn’t feel like it’s doing much. Is there something else I can do? I feel like nothing is working and I’m not actually retaining information.

My weakest section is writing which is insane because both of my degrees were writing focused so that’s all I did for 6 years.

Low energy after diet changes

Does anyone else struggle with energy levels? I’m used to drinking a Celsius every morning so between that and changing my diet I feel like I’m struggling to stay awake and do things.

How did you get diagnosed/how long?

Hello!

I know you’re probably not all doctors but I’m looking for some advice as I wait until October for a GI appointment.

About 8 weeks ago I had what I thought was a sinus infection, but I was struggling to keep food and eventually liquids down despite no nausea.

Eventually stuffy nose goes away and I continue to struggle to keep food down after eating, I see an ENT and they think maybe it’s GERD.

Today I had the absolute worst pain I’ve had in my stomach, followed by vomiting. ER says I’m fine, CT came back fine and labs say they did but indicate an infection. The EMT said it sounded like my pancreas, and after explaining what happened my mom suggested the same thing. I don’t drink really (like maybe 1-2 drinks every three months) and have never smoked.

Is it possible that I do have it, and experiencing flare ups? I can eat like normal for a week or two but then will randomly (again no nausea) go into a huge vomiting episode? Idk just figured I’d ask.
