Crystal’s back story

I always felt like they were all over the place with Crystal. When the show was on, I remember thinking that it seemed that Crystal did not go to high school with them based something they said in the first season. Like when they would talk about their high school experiences at work it sounded like they went to two different high schools. But then suddenly dance dad knew her since she was 12? How?

Verizon in langhorne/newtown/holland

Does anyone know why they’re such a huge chunk of those areas that don’t have service? I mean, I’m sure the answer is that there is no cell tower but is that because people have fought against it or there’s some ordinance against it? Or it’s just never been explored? There’s a good 10 minutes of driving that I do that I just get no service.

Woke up NOT obese for the first time in my adult life.

I (40s f) know a lot of people enjoy that switch from 200s to 100s, but as a tall girlie I was focusing on that number that made me simply “overweight” and not obese. Next stop “normal” weight. (Though that may take some skin surgery)

What is the most ridiculous reason you swipe left?

I know this is Seinfeld-level petty, but I swipe left when the guy is wearing chains/a necklace. I know it’s such a small thing and it’s such a valid form of expression. It just bothers me.

What is something that George Costanza would agree with you on?

If in Edinburgh, make the short jump to Stirling!!

It was gorgeous and so much quieter. The castle was awesome and the town was so fun to walk through.

Picture Pet Peeves

What is your top picture pet peeve for the FIRST photo?

For me:

  1. the person is 100 yards away (Marla Hooch!)
  2. Group photos (my friends and I play “guess who the person is” ….it is an easy game to win)
  3. gym pics first. I don’t mind them in general I suppose - you worked hard; you be proud!!! But I don’t want to meet your abs before you (shirts pulled up to hide the face).

Pretending to be Italian bankers

Is this the new Knight Nigerian Prince scam? Anybody else having this because I’ve had it happen twice and there’s no way that it’s just happenstance. I’ve had a guy tell me he’s originally from Italy and that he’s banker, and both said something very bizarrely specific about also doing work in helping single women to consolidate their finances or something. I don’t know it was clearly a scam. And with one of them, I tried to talk on the phone and they refused telling me that they couldn’t speak on the phone because they had to have a written transcript so they could remember everything that was said.

I mean it was an obvious cam, but they were so similar that I’m wondering if this is the new scam. To be Italian bankers that do pro bono work for single mothers?

Is talking in letters turn off for anybody else?

Maybe I am showing my age here (F 40s) when a guy who is my age and did not grow up texting sends me a “Hey how r u 2day?” it is just such a turn off. Maybe I’m too judgmental, so I just wanted to see if other people found that to be an immediate ick.

What other city should I add to my Edinburgh trip?

I’m traveling solo and I have a lot of flexibility. I know it’s really cheap to fly into Edinburgh from other cities, so I was thinking of trying to hit maybe Dublin, London, Manchester? Not sure! What is a great place to stay for a day or two?

Edit: I didn’t think to say this, but of course it’s very important. I’m from the US, and I’m in my 40s but I’m always up for adventure. I’ll be in Scotland 4 days for sure. I have 3 days to play around with.

Paying for the second date

Maybe I’m wrong here, so I would like your opinion of other people that are in the second stage of life. I’m in my 40s. So this isn’t about starting out and not having financial capabilities.

A guy I went out on a date with asked me to go out to dinner on a second date. I did not ask him he asked me. When the bill came, several minutes went by and he did not go for it so I went for it and I paid the bill. I feel like him asking me to go out with him saying he would take care of it.

Is it wrong that this irked me? Like if I had asked him out, I would’ve been more than willing to pay. It’s not like I can’t afford it, but going out to dinner in the middle of the week is it necessarily something I’m going to be able to budget long-term. Even if he would have offered to pay half I would’ve felt less annoyed.

I’m not expecting somebody to fund my lifestyle. I’m very independent. I feel like it’s more what it says about who he is, but maybe I’m wrong. Sent me straight.
