Global Remote Job Search

Based in Europe (work authorization here), background in tech consulting and finance. Targeting remote roles with US companies and getting nowhere. I am looking to stay in Europe and work remotely for a US company.

For anyone who's done it:

  1. Did you land the role first and then negotiate the EOR setup, or filter upfront for companies that already hire globally?

  2. Any way to surface those roles instead of "remote (US only)"?

  3. Is invoicing as a contractor the more realistic path?

Understand & Refocus

Writing to me is transcendental. It puts me into another world. To recount, recollect, and see the past, present, and where you are headed. You will never see the future, only a feeling, a direction towards either a goal or pull in the vastness of life. A star in the sky but you don't know if it is a star or a galaxy. There are times where I get lost, lost in enjoying life. I found out a long time ago through my mistakes, mistakes of doing and not taking chances, that there is always more in life than you can see. It's okay to get lost, that is the only way to feel life itself. To be in tune with you, your surroundings, other people, the food you taste, the smell of the air. It's all the little things that we live for that we miss. We are so focused on the wrong things in life. You can of course name some generic things, but that is not even close to the wrong things we are focused on. I need to make sure to refocus myself by defocusing and understand where I am. Actually to see through my own eyes with intent. The best way to do that is to take a deep slow breath and try to smell what the air is like. Even if the air is foul, it is life. There is more to experience in life. But, there is more that you will become as well. I do not know what that will be for you, I do not know what it will be for me. But I do know this. Take a look at your past, how far you have come. How much you have learned. You have done so much and you will continue to do so. But, don't rush, just stay focused. Focused in the sense that you feel life around, focused on doing what is right in life. A bit of morality, a bit of feeling, a bit of being. Focus on that. Return to your feelings. Understand them - they are a part of you. It is what makes you, you.
