APP vs TSLA , for instance

It's always interesting to look at hype and then actual earnings and revenue.

I look at Tesla who has a PE of about $320 and is never made its targets and is not particularly profitable and really subsist on hype. And the next great thing doesn't happen. They've been around long enough to perform and they haven't done it.

Then I look at Applovin very successful staggering margins consisting growth with a low PE. Double the revenue growth of Tesla. Healthy predictable reliable cash flow. And growing beyond their market of gaming into other areas.

Evidently robo taxis and AI robots are going to take over the world and everybody's going to buy them. The robo taxi market is targeting Uber and Lyft, but yet Tesla sells cars and robo taxis would displace that business supposedly. Right now their main business is making cars electric ones. And the competition is fierce and if China ever steps in, it's going to crush them.

Things that make you go hmmmm

I'm sure there's other examples of height versus reality. Seems to be hype is winning.

2004 Saab 9-5 shuttering under high-speed braking

I've replaced a lot of parts on the car. It has 235,000 mi on it.

The symptoms are shuttering under initial braking which seems to taper off as brake pressure increases.

No real pulsing below 50 or 40 mph.

Strut mounts were replaced because they were bad

All four wheels, new brakes and rotors, they were worn

New outer tie rod ends, I thought this would be the initial issue but the boots were torn. They weren't necessarily wearing out but replace them anyway

Felt play in the wheel at the 12:00 and 6:00 position. On the left front I replaced the wheel bearing. Even though it was replaced 2 years ago it went bad.

Replaced both front lower control arms. The ball joints had some play but there wasn't a lot of play in the bushings

Rotated the tires front the back

None of this made a change

I'm going to check the runout of the rotors next. Going back to the rotors because the way it pulses. They're only a year old but it could be warped or not aligned to the hub correctly. But we'll check that out.

After that, the only thing left is the inner tie rods.. or the CV axle?.

I've been throwing parts at it but they're all ones that needed to be replaced so that hasn't been a waste but it also hasn't fixed anything

Messing around with different compounds and polishes

My car had been sitting outside for 4 years uncovered due to a divorce situation. Of course the paint looked like crap so I decided to try some different polishes and compounds.

The malco actually worked pretty good as a One-Step. I went to 3M rubbing compound perfect it and I obviously did a better job.

I followed up with the black turtle wax polish that seemed to help as well.

You can see the trees in the reflection get clearer after the Polish.
