Had egg yolk leftover from a cocktail so I made some bullshittttt

Used an egg white for a cocktail. Made custard with the leftovers yolk. Did NOT measure shit. Was actually pretty good despite the chunks of scrambled egg in it lol

Cocktail is 100ml pink gin, 50ml grenadine (I added more after), 25ml lemon juice and an egg white. It's fine

Everything in my life is going wrong but at least there is hummus

Hummus from lidl, pitta and a single chicken strip. 2 pittas were lost in the process because I forgot they were in the toaster and turned them to charcoal

Am I doing something wrong with my boots?

I bought a pair of solovairs December 2024, and by February 2025 they'd started splitting. Solovair sent me a new pair, but THAT pair has now started splitting as well! Am I not looking after them or something or do these boots just do that? They were £200 and I bought them specifically because I'd heard they were better than Docs, bit worried I've wasted a loooot of money on shoes that don't actually last 😬

Photos are: the first pair from last Feb, the second pair now, and the support conversation I had after the first pair split.

Seam suggestions please!!

Hello!! I'm currently making a playsuit romper thing for a festival from a plain black viscose/ linen blend and I was hoping for suggestions on what seams to finish it with!

Normally I'd go for french seams, but I'm worried they might be a bit too bulky and not let it flow as much. I was thinking of felled seams too, but I'm not sure how well that would go for the top part?

I can't link the pattern because it's a mashup of parts and customised, but I hope I've included enough info, thank you!!

Salted caramel brownie espresso martini

Found a bottle of chocolate brownie milk in Lidl so I made this!! I think it's a good balance of sweet and bitter, but I've got a very sweet tooth so don't take my word for it haha

I finally finished the waistcoat

After 2 weeks of blood (stabbing myself with pins) sweat (sewing in my tiny room with the iron on) and tears (cried so hard on the pattern I damaged it) I finally finished the waistcoat I've been working on! I used simplicity pattern S9087 (and I'm never using a simplicity pattern again, that was awful) with cotton and brocade, mid-weight interfacing and viscose for the lining! Sorry if this is too much detail lol

It's not perfect, but it's the biggest project I've finished, and managed to get it done the night before our event 😬
