Tips on bringing my senior cat to the vet

I need to take my senior cat (14 years old) to the vet. Her her activity and eating has slowed in the last week. The problem is, she hates going to the vet. Like, she becomes frantic, screaming, pooping and attacking. For this reason I’ve avoided taking unless it’s urgent. The one vet I took her too a few years ago wouldn’t even examine her she was freaking out so much.

How do I help her calm down to get her there? Any ideas?

How to regulate bedroom temperatures in an old corner rowhome?

We have an 1800 sq ft corner row home with three bedrooms. We have forced air AC. In weather extremes (like this week), they are three very different temperatures. This leads to the people in the back room demanding the air be blowing all night to make the room bearable, while the people in the front room need an extra blanket because of the AC. The middle bedroom is an absolute sauna in the afternoon. Downstairs stays pretty manageable when set to about 75 during the hottest days.

Everything is insulated, but the windows along the side are very old.

Are there any tips and tricks to calibrate the temperate between these spaces?

Casual cotton midi skirt- what is in this season?

I want a casual midi skirt to wear with sandals or sneakers, tank tops and cropped t’s. I’m seeing tons of long tiered prairie skirts everywhere but they’re feeling… dated already? What’s something that would be simple to pull on but not necessarily that style? I love a picture or link!

Infrared therapy for pain management locally?

Is there a local spot to book some sessions for infrared therapy for managing chronic muscle pain? Google isn’t helping much.

Talk to me about visual family schedule organization systems

I’m an ADHD mom trying to manage our family’s schedule. If it’s hidden in my phone calendar or buried in a bunch of alarms and last minute alerts it doesn’t work. I need to see it at a glance. There are SO many systems and ideas out there. I don’t think we can afford a skylight, although I do like the idea? What has actually clicked for your family?

I’m looking for books for both toddlers and early readers, and/or early chapter books. We have and love the Marisol McDonald books. I find most books for mixed race families feature white/black families. I am glad those are available, and a lot of the identity topics covered still apply, however I wonder if you’ve come access any that specifically represent families that are mixed White North American and Indigenous Latino? Thanks!
