Hi all! Not a new dog owner, and am getting this handsome man at eight months as a companion for my almost-two year old rescue mutt who always gets mistaken for a PPCC (last pic). I got her at the same age about a year ago but didn’t know she was quite that young at the time! If I could do it again I would be more understanding of her adolescence and fear periods, I just didn’t know at the time. I also have a cat and a 45lb border collie / aussie mix (second pic - I’m going to have a matching set haha). Any advice would be awesome, thanks!
I’m a semi recent college grad and between my prior sedentary lifestyle and serious mental health issues I had gained a lot of weight. I am 5’4, AFAB genderfluid. I had taken testosterone for two years and gained quite a bit of both fat and muscle mass.
In December (top photo) I started an active job for the first time, then switched to another active job in March. The weight loss really started happening in the spring. I have been eating more healthy and less binge eating, though I haven’t made any huge intentional lifestyle changes. I’m a dog groomer so I’m on my feet every day lifting dogs, using my arms and legs a lot, cleaning, etc, sweating and staying busy. I don’t exercise outside of work, though I’m going to start soon. Now that I’ve lost some weight everything comes easier.
I thrifted a pair of pants that were seven sizes too small about three months ago. Yesterday I was able to wear them comfortably to work.
I see a difference in both the way I look and how I feel, but nobody around me has really noticed. I feel like I look pretty good and I want to keep going. My hair has also improved :) Just looking for support and encouragement! Thanks all - keep on keepin’ on.
