Strange buzzing sound when running new brushless with stock transmission at low power

This happens when I lightly apply the throttle on my fcx24m land rover. I followed this guide to upgrade it but I didn't really understand the instructions around not messing up the transmission servo alignment. The transmission does lock into the correct gear and stay there, when I apply the throttle after switching gears.

It's a prominent buzzing sound that only happens with a specific amount of throttle. It does seem to happen in both gears.

Broken receiver question

I'm new to the hobby and recently acquired an fms fcx24m range rover.

I bought some brass wheels with large tyres and stupidly did not raise the shell up at the front - probably abusing the steering servo as the front tyres rubbed against the case while I was crawling a local beach groyne.

The steering became temperamental. On closer inspection, it was locking up and making a very high pitched noise when locked. I thought the steering servo was done so I bought another servo and that exhibited the same behaviour, this time I also noticed the receiver and servo were heating up and the transmission servo was chirruping.

I will note that I had to splice the new servo wires with male a micro JST as it came with a larger port. Initially I didn't solder it but I later went back and soldered thoroughly, which seemed to improve but not fix the locking steering. I'm a bit concerned that testing the steering servo with an unsoldered wire splice has caused extra damage.

* I think my receiver is shot, something to do with the BEC? Does that sound right?

I've ordered another R3A receiver off Ali Express but I'm interested in any alternatives that might be more readily available as I'm in a rush to get crawling again.

* Can anyone advise on alternative receiver/transmitter combos for the fms fcx24m land rover?

Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read my sad story. I live near one of the largest municipal rock gardens in the UK and I'm waiting to fix my crawler before I can crawl it for the first time - it's tearing me apart!

Pic related, me having fun breaking my precious car.

A few pics of my fcx24m

I got some brass wheels and 7mm hexes, shown in the third shot. Performance definitely improved - it was a bit top heavy off the shelf. I also stuck some wheel blancing weights under it which seems to work well.

I like the look of the new tyres. However, they rub on the case which I think wore out my servo - steering is currently faulty. I am waiting on a new servo.

I've also ordered some portal axles too as I need more clearance at the front. I already have 39mm shocks and I'm going to try fitting the case a bit higher at the front.

I'm just going to keep sticking more things to it until it works good. I hope that isn't sacrilege, it's such a nice little car out of the box.

I am constantly confused by which parts I need and whether they are long enough or compatible. Really glad there are Reddit forums for these cars.

Aquarium roundabout roadworks

Anyone know whether the roundabout at the pier/aquarium is still closed (diversions in place) during the night?

I can't find any detailed information about what's happening when and I drive past there every Sunday night.
