So excited for these!!!!!
My AP Art kids are going to be thrilled when I bring these in. I'm at a low income school so vine has been fabulous for getting art supplies for my kids 😁
Just why?
I teach high school art and today was our first day back. I was looking at my attendance sheets for my classes and I had to do a double take. A name was printed twice on my attendance sheet. But, each one had a different student number assigned to it. I figured it was a clerical error and would bring it up with guidance at the end of the day. Nope.
My 4A class rolls around and guess what. I have a set of twins, identical, and both have the same first and last name. 😳 I'm going to be calling one student by the first name and his brother by the last name. Why do parents do this?
Edit: I guess I should have been more specific. I asked both boys what THEY would like to be called. We had a really good conversation where we had some good laughs and ended with a couple of fist bumps. I did not treat my students in a disrespectful manner or admonish them for something that they had no control over.
Oh so close, but I wasn't fast enough
That was me for several minutes. I would select something and tap request to no avail. Alas, the classpack of paintbrushes, the resin casting kits, fun back to school decor.......I mourn your loss. I shall shed a tear for thee. I was never fast enough to score anything. Tomorrow is another day. I'll keep the faith. Til then, tap on fellow viners, tap on.
What are these and how do I get rid of them?
Hi all, I've been following this thread and getting plenty of great info from you all. I am wondering what these bugs are. I just assumed they were dangerous/harmful to my tomato plants (Everglades tom) and broke off the stems that had cluster on them. What exactly are these things? And how can I get rid of them. I would like a more organic option to pest control but I will use a chemical solution if it is what I need to do to protect my plants.
Thanks in advance for your help. 😁
While driving 295
I spotted this guy while sitting in traffic last week. I know you guys will appreciate it. And anybody know where can I get one of these stickers?
First time with actual food in my RFY
This was in my RFY a few weeks ago and I snagged it. I've heard a lot of people talking about Dubai Chocolate and wanted to try but didn't. Always been skeptical of brands I don't know. I was afraid it would be melted when it came in but nope. It was in a big box with ice packs. So now my only decision is, do I share with the family.
My mom's new welcome mat
So my mom ordered this new welcome mat for the house and I knew it would be appreciated here so I had to share.
A different view and approach to extended time for ESE students
As the title says, this gentleman is discussing how extended time is being 'misused' and a different approach to the concept. As a teacher who has just returned after a 7-year break, I find myself having to relearn a lot because things have changed over that time period. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

That's a great question. Anybody else have a answered?
End of year fun
So, I have 25 students out and only 10 in class. We're having a street fighter tournament.
How is your end of year going?
End of the year numbers
So we're coming up on the final two weeks of school. This week is a regular week and next week is all half days. I told my kids that the final day to turn in assignments was Friday of last week. They asked what we were doing this week. I told them we were cleaning and organizing the classroom (highschool art room). We are doing that but it will only take a couple of days. After that, I plan to bring in some board games for them to have a little fun and as a reward for helping clean up.
I may have sabotaged myself by telling my kids we're cleaning. I only had 3 of 41 kids show up to my 1st period. 🤔😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not as bad as others I've seen but still........
My brain immediately went to emphasizing the 'i'
It was a prom send off and the girls name was Jourinee.
What do you guys do to keep kids engaged at the end of the year?
So as the title says, we are at the end, YAY!. But, I'm a little flustered on what to do. I'm highschool so our deadlines for the grade levels are staggered. Seniors are pretty much done and there last day is next week. That still leaves 2 1/2 weeks left with my underclassmen. I do plan on having them do cleaning and organizing but that still leaves over a week with them.
We don't do classroom finals as our county does end of course exams for the whole county and we are done with those.
I want to keep them engaged and productive. I had the idea of letting the kids draw on the sidewalk to recreate well known works of art. However, admin just shot that down. So I'm not sure what to do now.
in short: final exams are done, seniors are leaving, were cleaning 2 days, movie day 1 day and my final group project was completely shot down. Any suggestions on what to do now?
I am so excited. When I first saw this I stared trying to see if it really was a mattress or just a topper or something. Nope, an actual mattress 😁
I've needed a new mattress and was planning to purchase one after the summer break. But now, not necessary.
