What can I do to practice makeup during a breakout?

I have a prom photoshoot in 10 days and i'm currently on my period so my face is really broken out right now, me and my friend wanna practice doing our makeup for that day but I don't know how to do that without causing an even worse breakout due to the makeup products. Anyone have tips?
