Hello, and TIA. I am not very well versed in baby bisque dolls, and she’s going to be my first. I am not sure if she is antique nor vintage. Seller said she doesn’t have any markings and her head doesn’t turn. She looks like maybe a replica of Bye lo, and I found similar lashed doll in eBay branded Happyland doll, but they look more fleshy toned than this baby. Apologies if she is not antique nor made before 1980, if she is a 1980 onwards doll, may I request that the post be taken down after I’m able to see the identification? Thank you!
We joined a local Fujifilm photowalk yesterday. I brought two dolls but was only able to take photos of one. 1st and 2nd shots are mine, 3rd and 4th are from my friends ☺️🤍
Meet Hopia (a local pastry in our place) in her bunny hat and mismatched socks. My beautiful and kind coworker helped me take home this cute Armand Marseille 390 from the UK. She came with a dress, dreamy set of trousers, and a single sock.
From late 2025 to today, I have bought at least seven dolls, one after another. I just get surprised when I calculate how much I've spent on dolls. At the moment I have custom clothing set I just paid for and waiting to arrive in three months, and I already have three dolls in my buy list. I find that I keep telling myself, I'll pour my attention to the doll when it comes, and play with her for a long while before buying another one. But reality is dolls keep coming mail after mail, that I don't have character a lot of them right now. I just like that at least they're here now and I'll love them later, but later has not come. I've been severely stressed and pressured this year, that my only sense of comfort is on dolls and I think about them in all of my free time when I'm not studying or working. I don't know if I have doll addiction.
Just a discussion thread. I have noticed that I tend to not appreciate dresses, hats, and wigs I've made myself, even though they look technically correct. Yet, I cherish works I've commissioned from other crafts people. Have you guys been in the same boat? How did you get into appreciating your own works?
Hello! I got this low brow tiny doll, her shoulder plate says “Germany” at the back. How do I know if she’s an antique or a newer repro? Thank you in advance.
My baby had a cap when she was younger but it’s mostly gone now, but she still has like 10 strands of black fur and maybe 3 strands of orange fur LOL. I hope they stay.
I have bought these dolls last year (iirc), and have been loving dressing them up every month or so. I couldn’t get information about them, so I just assumed they were made maybe 1960s-70s to be safe. Then I made friends with an Ichimatsu/checkered doll collector in rednote and he was able to identify my dolls. He said the girl in black is probably from 1940s, while the bigger grinning girl is 1912-1927. He said they both looked like they can whistle, and so I tried to pinch their bodies, and they did!!! They’ve been sitting on rooms for so long, being dressed up so many times, and i didn’t even think they had whistles! I haven’t even finished falling in love with them yet and I fell in love with them so much more again!
Hi! TIA for answering. I bought some mohair wigs from china, at the regular rates they go for. They were pretty and for the 2 months they’re on my doll they didn’t stain. Then I asked the seller if I could dye the mohair wigs to darker color, and they said yes and that I could use human hair dye. So while prepping the wigs, I washed them (for the first time after getting them), and the color bled on the water a little bit, which scared me, but fortunately there’s no stain in my dolls. Anyways, I dyed them darker, and rinsed them like 5 times until I can’t see any bleeding. But later observed it’s not as dark as I want to be, and I might have accidentally rinsed the dye too much. So I re-did them, and only rinsed 3 times including after sealing the dye with 1:4 vinegar and water ratio. They’re currently drying. My question is, would my wigs stain my dolls given the process I did? And was the first time I washed the wigs (before dye) and it bled, is it normal?
I am so very happy to have bought this small doll in UK through my coworker who is currently on a training there. I can't wait to see her in person this coming few months. Photos from the ebay listing.
