What’s up with the water?

I got a new 75 gal tank for my new RES along with a new fluval 407 filter. The water seems to be sprinkled with white specks all over and it seems to be more everyday. He has been in there for a little under a month and am wondering what it is. The filter does a great job at leaning out any poop or other debris but not this stuff. I was wondering if it’s shed because some pieces look like flakes and others just look like small white dots. What could it be and should I clean out 50% of the water?

PS. My turtle is ~ 2.5 inches, I have UVB, UVA, basking spots, and water heaters for it.

I am a young adult who has an autoimmune disorder known as Sjogren’s. This disorder causes extreme dry mouth and dental issues. I have struggled with cavities my whole life and it has not slowed down. I brush twice a day with a prescription toothpaste, sodium fluoride 5000 ppm, and floss everyday and use a tongue scraper. I floss during the day when I need to and brush my teeth in the middle of the day if I feel I need too. I don’t use mouth wash because my toothpaste needs to sit in my mouth without me washing it out.

I continue to get cavities and hypocalcification. For some reason, I have horrible luck with fillings and they always fall out no matter how many dentists have tried. I am really discouraged and my teeth have become a big anxiety to me. Currently I have a bunch of fillings and three caps and am scared I will need more work done in the future.

I get regular check ups and the dentist says I am doing all I can and just to keep it up but I continue to get cavities.

I have tried all the over the counter dry mouth products to no avail. I don’t want to use prescription medication because it’s side effects including blindness.

Do you have any recommendations on how I can improve my oral hygiene?

TLDR: I have an autoimmune disease and it causes dental issues. Any suggestions on how I can boost my oral hygiene?
