H110 and creating a "universal" remote for IR

So after playing with some of the IR stuff for the H110.

Is it possible to create a SINGLE REMOTE item that COMBINES all the remotes I select into one "universal remote?"

I am going to guess from what I've seen, no, but alot of this stuff normally is buried deep in UI's that are not intuitive to me.

So I've programmed up a TV, HDMI switcher, and a soundbar, I'd like to have them ALL grouped into ONE REMOTE, not 3.

One path may be to "learn" each remote to a remote? BUT the remote for the TV is well, long gone or errr buried in some box, tote, drawer some place on the planet.

Can you "create a remote" to learn it then learn the buttons from the remotes? Guess I could find an actual IR universal remote and program it to the TV and shoot the IR stream to it that way.

Waste of time on both paths???

Seems like this would be the perfect solution, but what I think is great normally well....

Python API - Linux - Support H110 hubs!

Something I've found that might make the H110's I've purchased a plus, is using it programmatically especially the "siren" modes.

Ie in a BASH or Python script, I have something that occurs, I send a API call to the H110, it plays an alert/siren.

I am looking for something either in Python for Linux (And LINUX ONLY!) to interact with the H110.

I've seen this:

https://github.com/JurajNyiri/pytapo

And this does NOT SUPPORT the H110 and specifically states it WILL NOT BE SUPPORTED! (sighh.)

https://github.com/JurajNyiri/pytapo/issues/192

So is there something else that DOES SUPPORT the H110, and the KLAP API it can be Python or even something I can use via BASH via curl/wget .

Thanks!

H110 Hubs - What to do with them?

OK.. I was looking for IR blasters to integrate with Alexa.. this came up, so I grabbed some..

As I stated above, the original intent/purpose was/is for IR blasting.

I see these things are listed as doing other things with other sensors, like a button, which I don't see on the Tapo site?

I don't use matter, HA etc.. And my main cameras, door/window sensors etc. are all on another system, which is not changing...

So what am I not seeing in the forest for the trees?

Jackett & rutorrent & RSS torrents, magnet links, and manual search torrent/magnet links

Jackett and rutorrent

Linux Install

NO ()(*)!@$!$!@$! docker!

I am trying to resolve this issue I've had with every install of jackett on multiple boxes...

Example:

Error loading torrent

http://myhost/dl/limetorrents/?jackett_apikey=APIKEY=eacher+S04E04+1080p+WEB+H264+CAKES)

So what is the issue here??

Its honestly quite annoying to do a manual search to pass the link to rutorrent and this BS error. As well as causing automation issues for rutorrent via RSS.. The computer should do the work not me, unless its something off the wall/one off etc..

This applies to manual searches, and the above is from the RSS links I am pulling out of jackett for places that don't or disabled their RSS to feed into rutorrent.

The above is an example of the RSS error flooding the log for something, get the same if I follow a link from the manual search page.

The ONLY thing that WORKS is TPB mag links!

What config or something am I missing on jackett install/setup???

Thanks in advance!

RTL-SDR Development in Python / Linux and NO I don't want any vibeing or AI!

I am looking for tutorials, HELPME, FYI, tutorials etc. on developing software for RTL-SDR's via Python on Linux (and only Linux)

NOTE: I don't want to hear about any vibing/AI crap! That is not what I am after!

I want to learn how to do this.

I have a basic start from PySDR

https://pypi.org/project/pyrtlsdr/

Ok... thats cute...

Now I need to do things with these samples, like NBFM, selecting out the "channels" from this sample blob to 460.250 460.300 460.550 etc..

In the past sure you plop in an LM1800 and decode WBFM stereo from a 455Khz input... so I am looking for the above to LEARN how to do this NBFM, CTCSS, DPL, get audio, do stuff with that audio, say record it.. etc..

I am not after something generating it with no way to learn what this is does, etc.. so NO AI!

I can't seem to find stuff that leads to learning this, I have AI output from scroogle disabled, as I don't want to see it.

So a library ala pyrtlsdr that you take the samples from the it and it spits out NBFM audio etc..

Anything out there to assist in this??? Thanks!

Blood Pressure Monitor watch w/logging - Android

Title says it..

I am after a way to capture Blood pressure rates, have them logged via some application periodically say at least 2x/day, AM and PM.. I set the time.. and it pulls a reading.

Something in a watch form would be great. Rings? I am not sure about.

User would be 8x-isy YOA/F..

Alerts to others of high, low, excessive low, highs etc. to the user, and other users ie: me via SMS ,push notifications etc. would be great.. but not hard requirements.

MUST BE COMPATIBLE and NON INTERFERING WITH A IMPLANTED PACEMAKER/DEFIB!

ANDROID ONLY!

Any support software must be Android, or Linux (*buntu based, we don't have winslopper!) or web based (not sure how that would fly to read anything, but I'll put it out there..oh and nothing chrome|ium specific! pfft! NO! We don't do that here either!)

I'd consider something upto about $100 for device, maybe more depending, and even better if its HSA approved like the Kardia thingys.. but thats not a hard requirement.

YES 100% I am trying to "lazy out" a solution to this so that I can log BP. Tech should help to make this possible in 2026.. Heck its come a long way from a stethoscope and sphygmomter back in EMT/PM class..And I couldn't do it that way now any way (bad ears, low patience err, no patience, etc.. )

If it supports heart rates, O2 etc. stats, thats great, bonus gravy on top.. but BP is a must, period.

I guess having some sort of either 802.11 or Bluetooth connection to connect back to either a tablet, phone, dongle on PC (LINUX ONLY!) etc. would be a requirement.

NO SUBSCRIPTIONS on software! Nope! BZZT! I buy the device, any software for logging etc. is included in that price of device.

Something that is FDA approved ala the Kardia devices would be a huge plus, and worth extra $$$ spend, if thats even possible.. BUT something that can be "trusted" to be at least close is a must.

So what is out there???

I"ve seen searches, but many of these I am just skeptical on the whole BP reading method... I've got one of those techy cuffs that can do this, but its MANUAL, as I stated YES 100% I am trying to tech out a lazy option to do this.

Kernel Panic Tracing, logs etc.. 20.04 to 26.04

I am attempting to trace back a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnng persistent issue that I felt was a thermal issue BUT over the course of all this it was thought this was a "thermal" issue, and still may be a part of this... but fast forward to a recent crash .. I got the "purple screen of death" with a "kernel panic" message.

In the course of all this issue thats a first. to tracking this down.. as it really doesn't "play" as a true thermal issue really..

So.. to the point...

How to track hard lockups, and kernel panics.

So looking at this I've seen stuff about kdump and modifications to grub, which sends chills down my spine.. you don't touch grub!

So I am looking for how some others are tracing hard lockups with or with out the kernel panic

I've seen things like this|these:

https://www.linuxjournal.com/content/oops-debugging-kernel-panics-0

https://oneuptime.com/blog/post/2026-03-02-how-to-debug-kernel-panics-on-ubuntu/view

So kdump etc. which leads to the grub fear..

So what are the options for attempting to try to trace these lockups and/or kernel panics?

Thanks!

Reminders Stopping after some period - NOT Alexa+!

Note: I am NOT on Alexa+! That shrill rude thing can die!

I have reminders which are setup to make an announcement on ALL DEVICES for a specific task to be, well be reminded to complete by an senior parent. Works great.

A new behaviour which has shown up is that they seem to STOP after a few days.

The senior parent was out of the home, and I noticed that the announcement reminders had not played. Went to the tablet I use to control it, see these reminders in "overdue" clicked on them, and it returns to work as they should.

Well rinse repeat on this.... cut to the chase, I do NOT WANT these reminders to ever stop! I want them announced on the schedule forever, till I TELL IT to STOP OR DELETE THEM! Period.

The one thing that puzzles me after MONTHS of this working just fine that, it starts this crap after that senior parent is out of the house for a few days....

So does Alexa wait for a response ie: Ok, Got it, something from the devices and thus it goes along about its business? I don't know that the person was doing this, but maybe they were. They could be in a part of the house when this is announced and reply back and I don't hear it. Other times I would not be around due to work...

Anyway...

tl;dr How to stop this "overdue" setting triggering for reminders??!?!?!? Thanks!

0.4.1 - Gophertrunk - The Journey - So far - issues - Audio, gain, wideband SDR, and questions, comments

Updated to 0.4.1

Audio -

TUI on the previously listed laptop, - NO JOY. NO LOCAL AUDIO.

Web - I get GARBLED AUDIO AT TIMES when I turn it on

Tried all the various SDR's I have spares to use, V3/Black, V3/Silver in a Control/Voice setup, Airspy and HRF1, same results on all... I have one of the original HydraSDR's that I could add in to the mix, but honestly thats really just 4 RTL/silvers, basically, in a single box with 4 inputs. I've used it in the past for production, but had issues related to the DIP switches disabling SDR's at random. I may just jumper them on and be done with it. BUT I don't really see that being any change, the V3/RTL's are well supported, at least SDR RF wise.. so...

The garbled audio matches what SDRT and OP25 would produce on CRC errors etc... but I am not seeing that in the debug messages. So not sure the source of that here...

SDR's

Airspy and HackRF1 - Gains are listed.

amd64$ ./gophertrunk sdr list --probe
DRIVER    IDX  SERIAL            TUNER     PRODUCT   gains(0.1 dB)
airspy    0    AIRSPY SN:x8  R820T (A  AIRSPY    [0 100 200 300 400 500]
hackrf    0    0000000000000000  MAX2839+  HackRF O  [0 80 160 240 320 400 480 560]

BUT

Using the HRF1 in any gain setting other than "auto" results in failed decoding.

Airspy - No joy from what I can see with any gains.

Web - Spectrum

On the Airspy if I attempt to view the Airspy spectrum, NOTHING, Not even the DC spike shows up.

So some thoughts.

I've read the source code comments and the info in the other reply, and I am going to offer some input. The means of the gain settings on the HRF1 and Airspys I don't think is the path.

Even op25 SPLITS out the gains ie:

./rx.py --args 'airspy' -S 2500000 -N 'LNA:15,MIX:15,IF:10'

Review the SDRT setup for the gains for the non trivial SDR's ie: AirSpy, SDRPlay, HackRF1 etc..

TRS - For testing I use MY local system which is basically about 2 air miles away P25 PI LSM (NO PII at all we don't use it. This is part of a MULTI COUNTY setup we operate. This zone has 11 towers. tower visible from my drive way.

Laptop - 8 core/16thread AMD something

RF - Various SDR's using Decibel 5db gain duck antennas - test location is INSIDE, which is honestly a good 6-10db loss right there, but with the tower on this test system its irrelevant. 3 other systems thats not an option as towers will be 5-10 air miles away

HRF1 -

A toggle for the Amplifier, and LNA and VGA. LNA goes from 0-40, and VGA 0-62 "db" and I have it set to 16 for bth and a 5MSps rate since thats about the limit on SDRT with this laptop Audio is perfect.

Airspy - 3Msps rate

Gain setups are

Modes: Linearity, Custom, and Sensitivity,

On this setup I use LINEARITY, on another setup, due to issues with SDRT I use custom, I am not going in to that its for reasons I don't feel related.

Linearity offers 0-22 "db" gain

Custom exposes setting the IP, AGC Mixer and AGC LNA settings

IF - 0-15

Mixer - 0-15

LNA 0-14

Sensitivity mode offers the SAME 0-22 settings as Linearity.

I USE LINEARITY at 13 which seems to be right on the edge of NO DECODES to PERFECT DECODES CC or audio.

This method of spreading out the gain setting over these, adds more complexity to the setup as it is, and I honestly in the case of the Airspy and HRF1, I don't think they are working based on my testing.

I suggest that the SDR settings

Have SPECIFIC keywords to specify the TYPE OF SDR

ie: type: airspy, rtl, hrf1, sdrplay and then if you want use the USB enumeration for sub type. I am thinking that using the USB enumeration to determine the gain settings from things would be overly complex, where as stating it would uncomplicate things?

Then based on the type the options for gain would have

airspy would set custom, linearity, sensitivity and then have options for the appropriate settings

hrf1 same, where the options would toggle the amp on/off, and set the LNA and VGA.

This would also eventually lead to the sample rate setting for EACH SDR as you listed in the other reply.

Gophertrunk - The Journey - So far - issues - Audio, gain, wideband SDR, and questions, comments....

Really looking to get this working and advance it, since hopefully it will be lighter weight than SDRT's java overheard, and appears to be stalled development.

NOTICE: Frequency info, SDR SNs for PII, etc. have been REDACTED. Nor will I provide any information on system(s) in question. As this provides user location, employment etc. Nope. Not happening.

Config file data is at the end, I've stripped out the excess demo and not in use stuff from it.

So I've let things simmer to see if we've advanced.. and so...

As of V0.3.8,

LSM aka cqpsk NOW WORKS. Getting good decodes on the CC.

Audio - NO Joy.

Linux, Kubuntu 20.04.6, I've set it to true, tried the default "", and specifically to the ioctl:hw:1,0 - NO JOY.

YES SDRT works in stereo, and all other audio plays ie: system, VLC etc...

Linux audio systems, this is a laptop I am testing with...

-M142:~$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****

I don't use HDMI
card 0: Generic [HD-Audio Generic], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
 Subdevices: 1/1
 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: Generic_1 [HD-Audio Generic], device 0: ALC269VC Analog [ALC269VC Analog]
 Subdevices: 1/1
 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

hw:1,0 is the DEFAULT in the settings, and again, plays fine. Same in SDRT hw:1,0 works fine.

For audio I've set up numerous SDRs V3/Silver and V3/Black for the "voice" or wideband role as well as Airspy and HackRF One. this has other issues, below. And voice_taps: for the wideband setups. NO JOY either way as voice: or voice_taps:

Web interface - SAME NO JOY on audio either, tapped to enable, nothing.

Wideband SDR ie: Airspy R2 and HackRF One

First, sample rates, ummm. .can't set them to the proper or well wideband modes, ie: 6MHz for R2, anything greater than 3MHz for the HRF1

ie: AirSpy R2 has 3 or 6MHz

HackRF One has 2 -12Mhz for sampling.

Errors out on anything greater that 3.2 which is NOT even a valid option for the Airspy! And wastes the bandwidth that could be used.

Also voice_taps: is LIMITED TO 8? I could easily have 8 voice calls active on 1 system, and between all 4, 28+, especially if during prime school bus chatter season or a big event.

Second, setting for the "center" frequency.. I fired up SDRT to see where with ONE V3 SDR it sets the "center" frequency at... and using (Sample MHz/2)*0.95 = 1.14Mhz (2.4Msps) , I just plugged in what SDRT set as the center freq and tried, with that, and OK..it tunes.. but

NO Audio, BUT even with 1 SDR v3 on my system I will get 80% of the traffic as we only use a few channels that would be outside that 2.4MHz sample rate.

Third - GAIN on Airspy and HRF1

The Airspy R2 is NO JOY period on any RF, yes it works quite fine with SDRT, OP25, same location, same laptop, etc..

The WEB SPECTRUM shows NADDA. Zip. Nothing.

The HRF1 has a spectrum display via the web, but the Airpsy just shows the DC spike. nothing else. This has to be a gain issue as the Airspy is not seeing anything. Valid gains at least in LINEARITY MODE (SDRT) is 0-21, so 000 to 210 in GT?

I've tried various gains for the R2 and HRF1, with ONLY "auto" working on the HRF1,

BUT

What is the VALID GAINS for R2 and HRF1???

SDR devices:

V3/Black RTL-SDR SN 001

V3/Silver RTL-SDR SN 12

Airspy

HRF1

As per below:

linux-amd64$ ./gophertrunk sdr list --probe

Questions on Operations etc...

Before I go any further, since I am not getting any joy with things to start..

Streaming

IceCast - From the config this looks to be a SINGLE STREAM? Is that correct? And not a per TGID setup where TGID x goes to SWDISP, y to FDISP? Is this correct?

As well as this is operating more like a "scanner" where audio will be lost if TGID 5000 is active, and TGID 5003 is active too, but 5000 locked first?

RdioScanner - Again, is this going to loose audio, ie: not feed all the audio streams to the RdioScanner server???

I see lots of pluses in things, but these 2 areas would be deal breakers for me as they don't operate in sync with SDRTrunk and would potentially need MULTIPLE instances via say LXC or something for each feed which is definitely a regression to the past of hardware scanners, and DarkIce via analog audio. Thus USB issues are going to raise their heads. I already use a very $$$ dedicated controller USB card in my setups.

With the POCSAG etc. decoders. Something I would suggest would be NWR SAME decoding. And streaming the SAME Decode into the metadata of the stream. Having a setup where multiple NWR streams area setup, and then that metadata for SAME is sent. I do this now with METAR data to my NWR feed. I've not added SAME as it needs another decoder.

Wideband SDR's as their referenced here, would seem to still be constrained at least for me in the streaming issue(s). ie; Audio loss.

Local audio is not my main use. STREAMS are the MAIN USE. Each of 4 systems has about 10-20 SEPARATE STREAMS/FEEDS. Depending on system.

Some outline on how multiple systems and feeds fit into the picture ala SDRTrunk would be a plus here.

Some of this may be be deal breakers and I won't persue any further with getting LSM to work, since I can't replaced SDRT with it.

as for the LSM decoding, is there something to send captures to resolve this ala the way SDRT can capture data to be reviewed???

Thanks in advance.

Testing out things... 0.2.4, LSM P25...

So I am attempting to test this out, and starting simple...

My "main" local system P25 LSM Phase I, no Phase II audio at all.

I am literally in visual sight of the tower, literally, I can look out the driveway at my nice beautiful 1300 ft tower... bahawhaha..

Basic RTL-SDR V3

Not having much joy on this... Configs below.

I ADDED the p25_phase1_demod_mode: cqpsk line for LSM

Still get no decodes on the CC.. I use SDRTrunk and OP25 all with mostly great results (most of the issues are related to other things... hence the look at new software... )

I have 2 instances that run SDRT, one for this system... and I normally set the gain about 32 or so.. I tried all those in the config... no joy.. CC hunt....

Same SDR and same antenna (Decibel 5db gain whip) on a very hefty multicore AMD Ryzen setup... OP25/SDRT fine...

I think the issue is the LSM.. it ain't going to work in C4FM.

Any pointers on this???? Thanks!

Chromium AppImage /Linux - degoogled - Extensions?

Posting this here as the Chromium forum is locked and dead for 6+ years????HUH???

Due to a certain site issue, which I've reported their stupidity.... I've had to resort to using this Chromium- Degoogled version. I use it via an AppImage on Linux. .. I am not installing any thing for this. This:

https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/

My issue is the stupid way it opens tabs. If I ask it to open a link in a new tab it doesn't switch to it. And there doesn't appear to be a setting to do that like in Firefox. (HOW STOOPID!) Why would you open a tab in the background?

NO keyboard nonsense is just that nonsene, I am right clicking on the mouse, keyboard is not the option...

So after searches it appears that an extension is needed to correct this mis-behavior. OK..

Lets find one

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tab-activate-v2/anpjffgglpjkiiaabhmhihckcghknmbp

Appears this Tab Activate thing is the corrective means.. BUT

Chromium or errr the site won't enable installing it... WTF????

Ok.. what am I missing here?????? A lot work to fix 2 stoopid issues, one the site itself but considering who it is/operator, its par for "government work" (NO its ALWAYS been a crud site, so skip that BSry! can even export a DB cleanly.. don't get me started on the software to sanitize their exports... sighhh... ). And this spyware browser.

Wheres the hammer to get extensions to install ?? Thanks!

Automated Pill Management - CuraBox

I am looking to get input on some automated pill organizer/holders/dispensers.

I have the need to have something that can dispense 3 doses of meds each day, basically AM, NOON, PM.

I need it to have an alarm, and I'd like it to have some "smarts" to alert me of missed doses, alarms to notify the taker to "Time for meds!" I have alexa making announcements on the various echo devices around the house.

I've looked at these two:

https://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Dispenser-Medication-Caregivers-Monitoring/dp/B0GC53GQ4H

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Individual-Medication-Caregivers-Supplements/dp/B0GF1QQGC1

CuraBox has another 802.11 based one which requires tipping the ENTIRE container vs. "pods" that pop up.

Comments, input on these or similar units?? Thanks!

NOTE: YES I am AWARE the wyze itself provides NO SDK publicly, officially, or any other capacity even with API creds available from them.

What I am after is a PYTHON SDK to use for my own needs.

I've seen links on github to several, but these seem to be years old, not active, and/or having documentation that doesn't exist, only available via telepathy, hive mind, or some sort of gobbleygook that even the aliens at Wright-Patt can't understand. Example:

https://wyze-sdk.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

"Sphinx Create intelligent and beautiful documentation with ease..."

OBJECTION! Facts not in evidence... SUSTAINED.

ie:

https://github.com/shauntarves/wyze-sdk

https://github.com/SecKatie/ha-wyzeapi

The first one based on some of the of the legible parts of the documentation seems to be potentially a path, but its 4-5 YEARS of nothing on github.

So.. Is there ANY PYTHON SDK/API libs available with current devices

Must WORK with Python 3.10, Linux, and I prefer if it worked with

Therms and the sensors for the therm

Outdoor plugs

V3 Cams

Sprinkler controller

The "security" sensors ie: door contact, and motion detectors, temp sensors

I currently use BASH script to keep an eye on things, ie: down devices alerts, and it works quite well since the actual software doesn't do this. I rolled it into things I do for other servers etc.

I'd like to expand some of the monitoring of this wyze stuff.. If it offers control of stuff, ie: plug 2 off, plug 2 on, etc.. fine.. I am not really aiming that direction... its more status monitoring than anything.

So anything current in the reverse engineered APIs for python?
