Ventilation for P. werneri

Hello! Could anyone confirm that this is enough ventilation for Porcellio werneri? I live in a semi-arid climate.

I have read all the guides I can find so I know that they like a dry environment with a small moist area (edit: and good ventilation). This area will be at the other end of the tub from the ventilation holes. The tub is 7 quarts for a starter colony of 10 pods.

I plan to cover the holes with aluminum mesh screen, like I have on my other pod tubs.

Thank you!

Some insect larva or very shiny springtail?

I found this tiny fella on the North Island of New Zealand. At first I thought it was a plump springtail, but I have been unable to ID it, and it just doesn’t quite look like a springtail to me (that I know of at least). I was then thinking it could be a beetle larvae, but the antennae look too chubby, like a springtail’s.

The little guy was maybe around 0.5 to 1mm long.

I know all the photos are basically from the same angle 😅. I wish I’d gotten one of its head!

Anyone recognize it?

Polymer periscopic clowncrab and water slug!

I made these two little fellas for my friends that I play Subnautica with. They are made out of oven bake polymer clay, and painted with acrylic paint.

I had a seemingly great idea with the slug to use translucent clay so you could see the spiral guts inside, but unfortunately it was not as transparent as expected.

I’ll be making myself a certain snappy sandy antlion boi next!

(There should be a SN2 fan art flair!)

Fuzzy peach-colored slime mold

Found along the coast in a suburb near Melbourne, Australia. It was at the base of large tree, and the slime was about 3 inches across.

I’m fairly certain it’s a slime mold, but haven’t been able to find a photo online that has the same fuzzy looking texture. Maybe I’ve come across pictures that just show other stages in its life cycle.

Anyone know who it might be?
