My squig horde

This will be my last post on this subreddit for a few months or even years as I ran out of painted units of my army to show you. This is a unit with loads of self sculpted minis but also various GW squigs.

There are some half- and unpainted greenskin models left in my collection but this is our goodbye for a while. You guys here were really supportive and I would like to give something back, but I have no idea what...

Next will be some dwarf units, that I srill have to take photos of, and then I will start posting pics of my self sculpted dwarfs, that I want to create a mini range of, if you are interested in that kind of stuff.

Well...as always:

Again, thanks guys, you are amazing! Maybe see some of you at r/bugmansbrewery in the coming months. :')

Squig Horde

My squig horde is a chaotic wave of self-sculpted, modified and kitbashed monsters. This is the last unit, that I will post of my gobbo army for a while and I am really proud to see it here in all it's wildness and glee. I really hope you like it too!

Giant for my Greenskin Army

My giant is one of my favorites as he was a great start for me to learn wet-blensing and airbrushing on bigger surfaces, mamy years ago. The model itself allows for many minor and also some bigger modifications and putting some bitbox treasures on him, makes him really shine. Mine has a prophet-staff and a small squig with him. I love this mini and I already have the harlequin giant in some box to make him a metal friend in the future. ;)

As always, some more pics here:

Gobbo BSB

This Battle Standard Bearer has the skull pass style and theme combined with the squig theme of the army. A simple model that brings together ideas of my collection and works better than the forgeworld BSB imho. The glowing shrooms make it stand out a little while not making him a show stealer in the army, so he can be put into pretty much all of my units without looking strange. I hope you like this simple conversion of an often overlooked model. ;)

More models like this one, as always:

Gobbo Mob

My Gobbo Mob - a little small than my horde unit but painted with more effort. Especially the robes and swords were done much more efficient. Also the unit has some nice little interactions and some cool metal models from Harlequin and Citadel to make this thing a little more extra.

I hope you like them!

Goblin Doom Diver

My Goblin Doom Diver. It's pretty much the GW model without much additions - but I tried making a cool base for it. I know the flying gobbo does not make mush sense here, but where else to put him? I hope you like it. :)

Great Green Cave Idol

Probably the coolest yet strangest thing in my army is a "Great Green Idol" I made for the army to be used in T9A. It is a huge ball of stalagtites where goblinoid eyes and a nose seen to poke through. Pretty much everything on this model comes from my bitsbox or is made from green stuff and arranged around some "endless spell" from Games Workshop. So in general it has themes of the caves, the moon, mushrooms and with the little creatures + the smokecloud it becomes a very disturbing, magical centerpiece for the army, without making it too much just about size or some magical glowing gimmick. I hope you understand why I am very proud of this one, even without checking some Warhammer background box per se with it.

Squig Hoppaz

As you can never have too many squig hoppaz, I created a second unit, where I tried to go for even more verticality, while working some color concepts from the wonderful marco frisoni into. I know that many people in the internet like effects and gimmicks and maybe some here enjoy it in this case as well.

The unit is based on units from the looncurse box, but most of the bodies of goblins and squigs were sculpted with milliput, giving me an opportunity for creating something more on the diorama side of things.

Here it can be found a more toned down version of dquig hoppaz, by me:

New Players, Mission 1

Yesterday we had our first session, playing "deserted village" and "infected trees". We had a lot of fun and some really wacky things happened, like one Rogue fought against a zombie and a rar for several rounds, till he killed it, got a treasure from a clue marker right next to him, just to run out of the building and getting burried under the next one, collapsing right when he almost got away.

In general, the scenarios appeared to us rather easy, but as we did not take it very seriously, and did some stupid but fun stuff on purpose, we still got hurt a lot.

We will continue this campaign, for sure!

Gobbo Archer Bois

A gobbo archer unit is a must-have for a greenskin army. They never let me down in doing at least something, as these trashy bowmen are the most cost efficient way to annoy someone from afar. Even the fellowship flees from them in moria, so you can't really go wrong with them in Warhammer as well. ;)

Fanatics (n2)

My second fanatics unit, on their movement tray. Not much to say, but they are GW models, from the rather uninspired plastic kit and I wish I had gotten the netal ones back then. Maybe some here like them nevertheless. :)

Gobbo Mage

Some pics of a small gobbo mage, from the 20 yo box (Battle for Skull Pass). He is a low level mage in my army but he captures perfectly what gobbos are about. A little crazy, a little crappy and full of shrooms.
