Any advice before switching joysticks on Xbox controller?

(not sure if I added the right tag)

Heya, been soldering for around ~8 months now and feel finally ready to solder onto something of importance for me, my Xbox controller. It has been resting in its original box for approximately 7 years since I dropped it and (presumably) broke a joystick. Now, I know I ain't no expert or anything with just 3 AliExpress projects of experience so I'm making absolute sure that I know what I'm Doing by asking you guys.

Should I use a rework station and (try to) pull the joystick out or go one by one with a soldering iron and a solder sucker?

Any general advice people tend to forget with through holes?

Troubleshooting tips?

Oh and btw I don't have a preheater

Appreciate any advice.

Ordered a bunch of flux from "the mechanic" and it arrived but do I store it in a cold place or does it not matter?

I'm planning to replace my current keyboard (Logitech's G910) because ~85% of the keys are ghosting/double typing by now. I do believe most of it is from dust and stuff but alcohol barely helped fix it, So i decided to switch to (what i believe) a higher quality newer keyboard with the hall effect magnet thingy and I landed on the Keychron K10 HE with hot swappable keys. Now i did read from review and posts about keychron and how they got some quality control issues in recent years but, does it also affect their high-tier stuff? (also this s how it loks if i write a sentence witht fixing it on m current keboard)
