Need advice for parents B1/B2 from India

Hi all,
Ive been seeing cases of rejection in multiple subs and wanted to ask if this would be the right approach.
My parents are retired in India and I have an h4 visa and my spouse is on h1b. We are expecting our first child in January so we decided to apply for their tourist visas strictly to visit for celebrations purpose and to see the birth of their first grandchild. We applied their visa along with my sister who is working in India and she has educational loan and also car loan and has a package above 15 lpa.
She also has masters from Canada and worked and lived in Canada for 5 years and returned to India after her work permit expired.
My parents also have Canadian travel history and hold its tourist visa and visited me last year during holidays for 3 months and left.
I also have a Canadian Permanent Residency. My parents have property they can show their ties to. My husband is the one sponsoring the trip and they don’t have bank balances or fds but all the money is in multiple properties and gold. They also intend to stay just for 1 month and my sister for 2 weeks because she cant leave her job for longer.
Is this a strong case? Or should I be prepped for anything else with extra documentation?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Taking a flight at 34 weeks

Hi all,

Im currently in a diff country than my husband for work as I have work authorisation here and Im not allowed to work outside this country.

I am due on Jan 7,2027 and I was planning on wrapping up my work by Nov 27,2026 by when Il be around 34+1. Im now almost 20 weeks and I flew when I was 6 weeks into this country and had no issues.

Its my first pregnancy and Im a lil nervous about this plan because Im worried I might go into early labor(no history of this but just scared)

The flight itself is 3h10 mins ish and is an international flight and the drive is definitely 20+ hrs.

If my ob clears me, would you recommend me to fly back home or ask my husband to drive me over a course of few days??

My husband will be there to help me whichever option I choose and as of now I don’t have any bp or gd issues and hopefully wont.

Please advice if anyone has taken a flight or driven that long, late in their pregnancy and if I should do it.

I absolutely dont want to jeopardise my pregnancy so Im planning and making backup plans weeks in advance.

Thank you!

Applying for H4 while pregnant

Hi everyone,
My husband is on an H1B since Oct 2025 and has been in the US since 2019. I am based in Canada and have permanent residency here.

We got married last year and we were still in long distance because of work obligations from both sides.

We have been visiting each other every few months in the past year and Im currently in my 5th month of pregnancy.

Im planning to apply for a H4 visa because Il basically be on mat leave(12 months as per Canadas leave policies) and would like to stay with my husband during and after birth.
I have an interview in the next month and will be in my 6th month of pregnancy. Also in the past, when I was traveling on B1/B2 the officer questioned me as to why was I still on tourist visa and why didn’t I apply for H4, and I answered that my PR is in process and I don’t have any long term plans to reside there yet due to my work, so I haven’t and I will apply for it soon is what I said. I will be giving my H4 interview hopefully in Toronto. I do have health insurance in the US and also we are financially stable from both ends.

Will my pregnancy be a problem or an issue with my H4 visa being approved? Has anyone been in similar situations or seen cases like this? Any insights are appreciated. Thank you!

Also I do have an ob here in Canada and my purpose of applying this visa is not to give birth but maybe be with him after birth and worst case scenario, if I have complications I will travel early to be with him before I give birth. I dont have anyone in Canada to take care of me and he cant be outside the US for too long due to his visa status.

ECOPR after a lot of hurdles along the way

Sorry about the long post but heres a lil bit of a back story

I came to Canada in 2021 as a student, had an accident on black ice just 2 months after I landed and was hospitalised with multiple surgeries. I had to also move back home for a few months to get another big surgery and was on bed rest. Lost whole of 2022 to illness but graduated with honours in April 2023.

I got my pgwp but I didn’t get a job despite having 5 years of professional experience in my field and finally landed a job 8 months after graduation. It was a contract role with incorporation. I had to take it to survive and pay my student debts. Tried to switch multiple times but I couldn’t due to the job market conditions at that time but deep down I knew this wouldn’t be approved for my PR pathway.

So, I had to work part time as an educator for min. wage in the evenings and did 13-14 hr days and also worked weekends to cover my hours for PR. This continued for the span of almost 2.8 years and I finally gained the 1 year Canadian experience while working towards my career as a software engineer.

I got my ITA in December after the score finally dropped. Also at this point, I only had 6 months of wp left. I was worried that I might start losing points due to age.

I also got married right before I applied for my PR and that complicated my case so much. My husband lives in the US and I had to mark him as non accompanying spouse due to his work as he wasn’t planning on move here until a few years and I recently switched to my dream job.

My PR case was complicated because he had a false accusation on him by a family member 6 years ago(his ex sister in law, as a part of his brothers divorce proceedings) creating financial charges and an fir on him back home. He had the proofs to show that they were wrong and he was in the US but the case was still pending in India.

I honestly lost all hopes because charges like this will affect the timeline and decisions of PR. One month after I submitted my file, the charges were dropped and the case was disposed due to insufficient proofs. I was too stressed because the timelines of Indian courts is really unpredictable.

My PR file also started moving and I got a PFL asking for all the court documents showing proofs that case is disposed.
I knew that I was out of regular timelines at this point.

I kinda lost hope again because I was also newly pregnant and I was too stressed and couldn’t deal with uncertainty. I was away from my husband and family and was dealing with a complicated unplanned pregnancy, all alone in Canada.

3 months after my PFL, I almost gave up and wanted to move for the sake of my unborn child because this stress was affecting my pregnancy and my baby’s growth and I didn’t want to sacrifice my health anymore.

I decided to wait for 2-3 weeks and leave and move back home because my biggest fear was getting a rejection when Im almost at the end of my pregnancy and Im stuck on a visitor record because its too risky to travel. I also cannot go to the US because I don’t have a spousal visa and I cannot apply for one using implied status.

A few days ago, I got the P1 email. I couldn’t believe my eyes!

My case was very complicated but Im so glad that this sub was really supportive and gave me the assurance I needed during uncertain times.

The kindness of strangers pushed me through!

There were also others who demotivated me but it was mostly positive. I request everyone to please be kinder on this sub because one rude comment may seem funny to you, but it does affect the OP so much. I went through it and it was a lot to deal with!

I also had an RCIC to help me and they absolutely did their best! I couldn’t have navigated this situation without them and he is one of the best out there and Im so glad I chose them.

If anyone else has gotten an ADR or PFL, Id suggest you to get professional help if needed. If not, then please be as detailed as possible because in my case, I felt like that was my last chance to convince the officer.

I got my eCOPR today and more than the feeling that I finally became a permanent resident today, the feeling of being reunited with my husband during this pregnancy while not worrying about losing my career and years of hard work is giving me so much peace!

Heres my timeline

AOR- Feb 6,2026

NIPT came back inconclusive both times

Im currently 15+5 and I had my nipt done at 13 weeks and another at 15 weeks because both the times, the results were inconclusive. I am based in Canada and the norm is to do NT scan along with eFTS and it came back negative, which is a relief. I cant help but worry about my nipt results. It does say that mom being overweight causes this issue and I am a bit overweight for my height(5’9 and 95kgs) or maybe if something is wrong with the baby. The reason was low fetal fraction. I did the LifeLabs Full Panorama. They usually do not test nipt unless theres an issue, but I did this for my own peace and sanity and I cant help but worry now. Has this happened to anyone? Im really scared of doing anything invasive. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Question about PR applications that are stuck

I heard from a friend that her parents PR application process was expedited because her and her siblings are all citizens here with families and their parents are old and sick. It had become hard for them to travel back and forth to India to take care of them. They contacted an MP and they expedited their application and they are permanent residents now.
Im awaiting my PR and Im currently pregnant stuck in Canada due to implied status. Lately this Pr stress has been getting to me and also affected my baby and its growth and also I started getting blood pressure issues which is the worst in pregnancy. Im also living alone here and my husband is stuck in another country and I don’t have anyone to take care of me here. All my friends also moved away. I applied in Feb 2026 and Im almost about to give up everything(have a really high paying and fulfiling career in Canada) and move because its too taxing on my health and my baby. My doctor truly believes that my problems are due to stress and put me on bed rest but unfortunately I have to do things alone. Before someone quickly judges me, I applied for my PR first and this is an unplanned pregnancy. For this exact reason, we weren’t planning for kids and decided that I cant put this away for a PR and Im not getting any younger. Im in my 30s. Im in my last month of pr processing.
My friend did say that IRCC does faster processing due to humanitarian reasons. Is contacting an MP the right move now? Also I have review required tag on my Background and Eligibility and Im living in hell everyday.

Need suggestions for applying from the US

Hello everyone. For context, my husband is on an H1B and still has 4 more years left on his h1 and has a stable job and everything in the US. We got married a year ago and have been doing back and forth. I live in Canada and I am currently on implied status(open work permit expired, awaiting pr decision) and Im also 15 weeks pregnant now. He already had a Canadian visitor visa and it expired along with his passport last month. He got his new passport back and wants to apply for the visa again to visit me as Im unable to travel due to my implied status and pregnancy.
He is also a non accompanying spouse on my PR application because he isn’t planning to move to Canada anytime soon due to his job in the US.

The reason he wants to travel is

  1. Do an intimate gender reveal as Im close to knowing our baby’s gender.
  2. Travel for a bit in Canada with me before the baby arrives

He is only planning to stay 2 weeks and he has 2 previous visits to Canada which were 2 weeks in 2022 and 2 weeks last year after we got married.

Question - Is it safe for him to mention my pregnancy and my implied status and why we cant be together and why he has to be here? I don’t want to give the officer the impression that he wants to be here long term which isnt the case at all.
Does me being on implied status affect his visitor visa case?
Should he just mention that he is traveling with me for sight seeing?
We have plans to travel to Banff and and some other places in Ontario and Quebec.
We want to be genuine on our visa application, but lately IRCC seems to be burning people if people are very honest and transparent on their applications nowadays 🫠
Please advice. Thank you!

Should I find out the gender of the baby without my husband being involved?

Sorry about the long post! Im almost 10weeks and Im planning to do the nipt test soon.

For context, my husband is in the Us and Im in Canada. We both lived separately before getting married and the plan was for me to eventually move. I am in the process of getting permanent residency and worked my ass of for the past 7 years to be where I am at now so I am staying in Canada because Im close to the finish line.

We kept doing long distance and it was mostly me visiting him and staying there for 3-4 months once or twice a year. We had our first anniversary in March, and we had a vacation planned and shortly 2 months after that I found out I was pregnant. It wasn’t a planned pregnancy but I always wanted to be a mom and so grateful for this baby. I just lived with him for 2 weeks ish after we found out. He has been helpful but sometimes was so cranky that he had to do all this extra housework and honestly my anxiety was over the roof. I was at a few doc appointments and he was mad that he was missing work. Sometimes hes the one who books the appts, so passive aggressive behaviour.

I couldn’t wait to come back to Canada so that I can live alone and take care of myself and especially not go through constant anxiety. Ive had some rough patches up and down with this pregnancy and honestly I feel so bad for the baby because Im constantly stressed due to my immigration status and if Il lose everything I worked for, for the past 7 years. My husband has complicated my immigration file due to issues related to his household and honestly I may not even get the pr because of him and Im not sure what ro do. He wasn’t aware of the intensity of the issue and was reluctant. I guess we could say he is very lazy and self centered when it comes to his immigration and doesnt care about mine. He is on an h1 and I kept asking him to start the process for the dependant visa since last year and he kept delaying it. He literally didn’t give any weight to it.

Im in a situation where I might lose my immigration status here due to his complications that may deem me as inadmissible in Canada as the govt sees us as a single entity. He did not file the dependent visa and god forbid something happens, I might have to return to my home country around 8 months pregnant. I cant travel to the US because I am on a tourist visa and no visa officer would allow a 8 month pregnant woman to enter the country on a tourist visa, and honestly I don’t think its ethical too. The only thing Im dreading is I have to give birth without my husband.

Also his passport was expiring and he knew that, he was so lazy and didn’t apply for a renewal until last min and he cant even visit me in Canada until his new visa comes in which would take 2 more months.

I had to go to some appointments all alone where they said I was miscarrying and wanted to do viability tests. My baby is okay now but honestly its my first pregnancy and I feel like hes not involved apart from calling and asking if I took my meds. Im tired of doing it all alone and he said he wants to visit us and do an intimate gender reveal but I feel like whats the whole point? He only wants to do celebratory things and wants to ignore this whole pregnancy. Somedays I cant even bring myself to eat and get up and shower and I just try to drown myself in work.

Im planning to do the nipt test which also reveals the gender and find out because everything has been so depressing and stressful and that might give me something to look forward to. Oh and also my family is also in a diff country and my mil and I have a strained relationship and hes asking me to talk to her. She magically started talking to me after she found out I was pregnant and asks how am I feeling. Honestly we didn’t speak for 6+ months and immediately calls for the baby. I dont even want his parents to be involved in my childs life because they didnt really give good morals and values to my husband and I wanna avoid that any cost with my kids.

Also he says some things that trigger me so much and theyre kinda big red flags but Im trying ti just ignore them for my sanity.

I wouldn’t say he is not excited but he is lazy and sometimes doesnt care honestly I wanna just do it all alone because his presence doesnt even matter anymore. I never expected my first pregnancy to be this way. Am I doing the right thing?

Need advice please

Im currently living in a basement as I keep traveling out of the country and keep returning back. Im currently pregnant and need to nap in the afternoon and have been having trouble falling asleep. My landlord has a lil daughter and she keeps banging on the floor while playing with her toys and for some reason the space above my bedroom feels like its vibrating and going to fall off on me. I cant help but get bad anxiety and wake up every time from a super bad anxious feeling. I did tell the landlord multiple times and they said they will try but they don’t understand that its extremely loud as there is no carpet in their house and I can also hear what they’re talking even if they’re doing it softly. I wake up from headaches in sleep. Im worried that this might affect my health and also at nights they turn on the heat too much. What do I do? How do I politely tell them that its affecting my health? This maybe the nth time. Also cant move out anytime soon due to my condition. They know that Im pregnant and despite they keep making those loud noises. Even if theyre walking the whole ceiling feels like its gonna fall on my head.

Chances of PR refusal?

Here is my PR timeline - Cec Inland with Non Accompanying Spouse. OWP left for 25 days

ITA- Dec 10 2025
AOR- Feb 6 2026
BIL - Apr 13
Medicals Passed - Apr 13
Biometrics Completed - Apr 28( I did these out of Canada as I was traveling at that time, and only found this slot)
PFL - May 12, Submitted on May 15 Reason was Non Accompanying spouse.
PVO/SVO - Vancouver/Sydney

So my spouse is non accompanying and lives out of Canada and we have a genuine reason for him being non accompanying, as he is currently living in the US and working there.

The only problem in my case is my non accompanying spouse docs. We recently got married.
His brother had a divorce case going in India, and my husbands name was falsely mentioned in the case, when he was not even living in India at that time, submitted proof of his official travel history from the US to IRCC.
His PCC from the US and India are clean and show no issues, we also disclosed the matter to IRCC and also when we got the PFL asking for court docs, we submitted proof that the original divorce case of his brother was disposed, along with public links of the case from eCourts India.

Also the PFL didn’t look like an actual PFL, the request says PFL but all they asked for was these court documents.

Called IRCC and they said my background and eligibility is in progress, security hasn’t started yet.

An RCIC is handling my case, but I cant stop being anxious. Im in a very bad situation as I cant travel out of Canada due to implied status and Im also living in Canada alone and Im pregnant. What are my chances of rejection here? What kind of backup options do I have? Do I contact a local MP for help now or wait for a decision? Any suggestions are helpful, thanks!

Husband(30M) and I(30f) have been together for 14 years and got married a year ago. We both live in different countries due to visa issues and our employment. We try to spend as much as time together possible. He has always been a narcissist but did love me. Thats the only thing that kept me going despite all the fucked up things he did to me. I have been living with him since 2 months this year and have plans to go back to my country in a few weeks. All Im trying to do is spend sometime with him with some quiet and peace. He was a former bully during childhood and he admitted this multiple times in the past. He rage baits me and bullies me so much. It has gotten to a point where I started developing severe anxiety and my cortisol levels are upto the roof. I lash out sometimes due to his behaviour and majorly I burst because I keep tolerating so much and if I reach my threshold, I react. Due to his, he plots a revenge and makes me suffer again and it goes on in a loop. My patience is exhausted. He doesn’t care and I have developed health issues. In 30 years of my life I missed my period for the first time and no Im not pregnant. Every day its the same and he says its fun for him but its not for me.

I brought up divorce multiple times and he doesn’t want to. What should I do? Should I just move to a new country and cut all contact and move on as I know for sure he wont change and wont divorce me?
