Power loss on stihl fs110r

I’ve got a stihl FS110r. Kinda old but it’s got a recent issue I’m unsure about. Starts reasonably easily and runs well. Idles good and decent acceleration to proper speed as checked with a tach. The issue is that as soon as I put it under load cutting weeds, its power and thus rpms drops significantly. Not an issue with too much line strung out, I’m very familiar with that. Google asserts that a weak coil can demonstrate this effect but what says the collective wisdom? Should I throw an aftermarket coil on as a Hail Mary or spend the $70 on OEM? Or something else I’m not seeing? Fuel is the same stuff I’ve been using in other equipment with no issues. I’m not a pro, just a homeowner trying to keep my equipment running well.

Bushhog slip clutch adjustment?

I’ve had my bushhog for close to 15+ years. Always had problems getting the slip clutch set just right and hoped the collective wisdom can help. Lately (last year or so) I’ve been popping shear bolts in my rhino se6. It’s got a slip clutch. I’ve tried loosening the slip clutch springs a bit but if I do very much, it’s just slips. Once it slips, it’s hot and is like grease. I can either sit there for half an hour (seriously) or tighten it up and get back to hogging. So I tighten it back up and risk the shear bolts. I rebuilt the clutch pack a couple years ago with fresh clutches. And yes I’ve gone back to the manual and set my springs spot on to spec. No help. At that setting she slips. Suggestions? Oh yeah. No rust anywhere in the clutch assembly.

Freezeproof field faucet leaking?

Ok I’ve got several freezeproof field faucets on my property and one is (I think) acting wonky. When shut off, no leaks. When I turn it on and water flows from the spigot, a small but steady stream of water also flows from the drain port. The other faucets don’t do this. I found this because the area immediately around the faucet stayed wet and there was a small leak from the spigot. Fixed that by readjusting the actuator rod as usual. But the wet area remained wet even during recent very hot/dry days. I dug up the valve area expecting a leaking water line connection. The faucets get fairly frequent use but I don’t think this is normal. Is there any adjustment or good fix other than just replacing the whole unit? I’m not opposed to this but want to know my options.

Kubota zt kohler question

Thought I’d toss this out and get folks opinions. A bit long so I apologize.
Awhile Back I sold my Kubota zg123 with a kohler engine. Had around 850 hrs on it. I’d recently had both head gaskets done and it was running solid. Started easily ran and idled smoothly with good power. After selling the buyer was delighted with it and then after a couple months he texted me with a problem.
Said he’d left it running for a few minutes and when he came back it was blowing oil out the filler neck. Then said his mechanic told him the pistons, rods, and crank were destroyed. Later he told me the compression was 180/145 and that mechanic told him ‘most likely’ pistons/rods/crank were destroyed. (Yeah red flags here for me, if destroyed, how’d they get a compression reading). Upshot was he wanted me to pickup half the cost of a NEW kohler for the mower. At this point I told him not a chance I was gonna give him nearly the purchase price of the whole mower for a new motor.

I’m not a mechanic but the whole thing just smelled off to me. But after the fact I’d like to get some pros opinions on the situation. Was what he described even reasonable? If it matters I sold the 48” cut ztr with a new set of OEM blades plus the g6 gators on it, 2 OEM idlers plus 2 I had rebuilt and 2 OEM
Hydro filters. Overall price was $2000ish. So, did I screw him over? I’m a big boy and can handle the truth.

Uses for older springs?

Finally got around to replacing the recoil and FP springs just now in my Kimber full-size. Not sure how many rds the old spring had on it but my empties (both reloads and factory) were ejecting prob 20 feet or more. New Wolff recoil 18.5 was at least an inch longer then the old spring, new FP spring was over 1/4” longer. So to my question. When yall replace sorings, what do you do with the old, worn ones? I usually put them aside telling myself I’ll ’do something with them’ but never do. So, ideas anyone?
