Hi everyone! I’m considering the DBA program at Capella University and would love to hear from current students or recent graduates about their experience.

I have a few questions:

• Is the DBA fully online and asynchronous, or are there any required live Zoom meetings or classes?
• Does the program end with a dissertation, capstone, or another type of doctoral project?
• Do you have to complete a live defense or presentation in front of a committee, or can any presentations be recorded and submitted?
• Are there any live presentations, group projects, or projects where you have to work directly with an outside company or organization?
• For anyone doing the FlexPath option, how quickly have you realistically been able to complete courses?
• How difficult would you say the doctoral project/final portion of the program is?
• How supportive are the professors and faculty during the final doctoral project?
• Overall, would you recommend Capella’s DBA program?

I'm starting the MBA FlexPath program at Capella soon and have been researching the DBA FlexPath as a possible next step. I've read a few student reviews, but I'd love to hear from current students or recent graduates about your experience.

I have a few questions:

• Is the final capstone poster presentation prerecorded, or is it presented live?
• Is there a traditional dissertation defense, or is the capstone process different?
• Are you presenting to a committee, or do you upload your presentation and respond to questions afterward?
• What was the most challenging part of the capstone?

I also have a few questions about the coursework:

• Which courses were the most challenging?
• Which courses took you the longest to complete?
• Approximately how long did it take you to finish the DBA?
• If you accelerated, how many FlexPath billing sessions did it take?
• Do you have any tips or advice for someone hoping to accelerate through the program?

One last question: If you've completed the MBA FlexPath before starting the DBA FlexPath, were you offered any alumni discount, tuition discount, or other savings toward the DBA?

I'm starting the MBA FlexPath program at Capella on August 10. I recently completed my M.S. in Management and Leadership at WGU, and Capella accepted 12 transfer credits, which covered all of my electives.

My goal is to finish the remaining courses in one FlexPath term if possible. These are the courses I have left:

• MBA-FPX 5002 – MBA Leadership (starting Aug. 10)
• MBA-FPX 5006 – Business Strategy
• MBA-FPX 5012 – Marketing Management
• MBA-FPX 5008 – Applied Business Analytics
• MBA-FPX 5010 – Accounting Methods for Leaders
• MBA-FPX 5014 – Applied Managerial Finance
• MBA-FPX 5016 – Operations Management for Leaders
• MBA-FPX 5910 – MBA Capstone Experience

For those who have completed the program:

• Which courses took you the longest?
• Which ones were the easiest to get through?
• Are there any courses I should pair together or save for later?
• Do you think finishing these in one term is realistic?
