I’m 18, around 5’7” (170 cm) and 63 kg. I have no riding experience, and this will be my first motorcycle.

I love the look and sound of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, but I’m worried about the weight, especially since I’ll be riding to university and sometimes carrying my brother, who is about the same height and weight as me.

I’m also considering the Triumph Speed 400 because it’s much lighter, has modern features (traction control, slipper clutch, ride-by-wire, etc.), and I’m planning to give it a café racer look with mods like:

Single-seat cowl
Clip-on handlebars
Bar-end mirrors
Tail tidy
Black exhaust
Small flyscreen

My riding will mostly be city riding, commuting to university, weekend rides, and I prefer cruising rather than high-speed riding.

Which bike would you recommend for my situation, and why? I’d especially like to hear from owners who’ve ridden both.
