To Mat Pilates Instructors, How did you get your foot in the door teaching Mat Pilates at studios?

Soooo, I got my certification through a studio back home and have taught community classes, but I haven’t consistently taught at a Pilates studio yet.

I’d really love to start teaching in a studio here, even if it’s just one class a week to get my foot in the door and build experience.

For instructors who are already teaching at studios — how did you get your first opportunity? Did you reach out to studios directly, take classes and network with instructors, audition, start with substitute classes, etc.?

Would also love to hear if anyone has advice specifically for getting started in NYC as a newer studio instructor! Thank you in advance!

22F Looking for 1-2 Female Roommates | MANHATTAN | AUGUST 1ST!

Hey everyone! I'm a 22F college student looking for 1-2 female roommates around my age (21–25ish) to find an apartment together in Manhattan — ideally in Kips Bay, Nomad, Flatiron, Gramercy East Village, West Village, or Chelsea (Open to anything below e. 35th-Slightly below Houston). My max budget is $2,450/month, and I’m totally open to flex wall living if that helps us get a nicer space in a great location! MOVE IN DATE: Late July-August 1st.

A bit about me: I’m easygoing, clean, respectful, and social but also value personal space. I’d love to live with people who are down to occasionally cook together, go on Trader Joe’s runs, or just chill after a long day. I work a couple jobs and am also a pt-time student, so I will be in and out of the apt. quite a bit. A relatively quiet and cozy space is important to me too.

I currently live in the city, and my lease is up July 30th. I live in a 2-bed 1-bath but my current roommate is moving into a studio. I really like my current apt, but idk if I can justify the price, due to an increase. PLEASE reach out if this is of any interesttttt!! I My current roommate and I also met through here, we are just going our separate ways now due to different life paths. Overall, great experience.
