Some 5 to 20 minutes after launch, the app abruptly crashes and restarts. After that, crashes become more frequent making it essentially unuseable until reboot.
My network connection to the device is 100% solid and sufficient.
Cleared cache, rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalllled. No change. Wash, rinse, repeat.

All of these work using a variety of storage devices and generic (Genesys Logic) based USB-C hubs, bot not at all, or sometimes only once per boot session, on the Onn.
Addendum: I was finally able to get audio output using one of those USB-C "splitter" Y-cables. Now the weird part: as soon as a power source is connected to the "charger" limb of this adapter, the headphones auto-magically disappear until the charger is disconnected. I'm beginning to fear the USB stack on this device is hopelessly bugged.
