All offbeat, no-tourist places please

I am from Punjab and plans to travel solo to Kerala. I want to know which time/season is the best time to visit? Should it be monsoon rainy or winters?

Apart from that major question, i also would like to know what are possibly the most beautiful or interesting offbeat places to visit there that has no tourist mainstream visitors.. i am not interested in A-Z travel i only want to experience the most special and best places possible.. like beaches, forests, or anything i don’t have any idea i mean..

Also mention only the most best famous foods or food places you know too.. only the best ..

How is the public transport system inside Kerala? Trains and buses? I want to do a solo sustainable trip ..

Thank you so much in advance!

P.s - I been to south 2 times (TN and Hyderabad, Gokarna) and i love it there always.

The most essential Triund itinerary

I went to trek Triund trail this week. Here is the most simplest and essential facts and keep in mind facts from my experience >

  1. I took a 3A class 4 hrs train from Ludhiana (Punjab) to Pathankot (Punjab). Then took a bus to Dharamsala which took 3 hrs. From there a 20 min bus take you to Mcleod Ganj.

  2. I lived in a hostel called Backpackers Inn. Paid 350/- for dorm and room costs 600/-. Spent a night and explored little bit main market.

  3. Next morning i woke up around 5:00 am and and went to Mcleod Ganj main market chowk. Here i did a big mistake. I didnt agreed to taxi price which was 600 for Gallu Temple from where you start the actual trek. Nothing can go further this point without trek. He also offered me 300 for Dharmkot Chowk from where Gallu temple is still 3.5 kms. The trail is very tough and esp steep in start. I regretted and later took a taxi from Dharmkot chowk in same 600 price.

  4. If you really love trekking or walking you can just save your 600 and go ahead however it will tire you a lot for actual trek which is 3-4 hrs one way. So you will be trekking 9 kms from Mcleod Ganj Chowk. It is very wrong decision in all senses unless you are a very fit n enthusiastic or pro trekker or walker.

  5. From Mcleod Ganj Chowk you can share a taxi with someone so you will only pay 300 and do the same from coming back as well. This is the most essential and worth reminder.

  6. Trail is easy for friendly beginner trekker. Last 1 km is bit steep but still all good. Its just a workout for regular trekkers.

  7. Lot of folks choose to comeback from the top after spending some time there and even some of them go back in dark too. Past 5 pm. Its very safe trail from any animals.

  8. You can camp or stay in a room. Costs are same 1000/- per person. Including dinner and breakfast. I stayed in a camp.

  9. Theres no alcohol, meats or any other foods on top. You only can buy biscuits and chocolates and cold drinks. In food you only get Maggie (100/-) and 2 Eggs Bread omelette (100/-) . Everything costs a lot on top bcz its tough for them to bring it from down. A water bottle costs 50/- from usual 20/- everywhere in India.

  10. Mostly do bring any food you can on top if you intend to stay or even eat. Its very costly a smallest cup of tea still costs 50/-.

  11. My stay was fine. Its windy from 9-12 during night so you hear your camp shake voices. But then it gets calm as hell. Bring your inside layers to stay more protected while sleeping in a sleeping bag and 2 heavy blankets they provide.

  12. I got back next morning around 11 am. Enjoyed sunrise and some sun and had a nice breakfast n chai. It took me 2 hrs to get back.

  13. It was nice but i didnt find much liking. Maybe too crowded and commercial tourist spot. But i would love to come with friends and cook mutton currys on top and drink some rum or wine. But i wont come alone again. Not worth it. There maybe some other great places in Himalayas to stay.

Hope you found my itinerary worthy. The taxi issue is only most important then food on top.

Let me know any questions you have.
