Final form of my ball python enclosure. Still waiting on vivosun to send me my replacement pump for my irrigation system.

What do you guys think? I have 3 ivory millipedes living in here, yellow springtails, dairy cow isopods and I will be adding night crawlers. All should help to keep the plants healthy and happy. Tank dimensions 6x2x2, humidity 75% ambient temp 85F (that’s with just the grow lights!) basking temp 95 on the right side (heat pad on the back corner of the tank wrapped around the corner to evenly heat), exhaust fans at the top (pushing air in) and on the right side (pushing air out.) they are controlled by my inkbird humidity controller, the probe can be seen on the right side.

Update 4, plants are establishing nicely and beginning to spread

Added my grading on the open vents for the fans. Next is perches, water dish, hides and my male ball. I have a host of inverts I’ve tested in the past that I plan on adding to this tank to help process waste. 1. Springtails (orange colony I’ve been breeding) isopods (dairy cows), and zebra millipedes (small enough to not bother nor be bothered by my male ball and help to break down leaves, waste and feed my plants). One thing I’ve learned with all my builds is that you cannot cohab reptiles, but there are useful insects you can add to bring out some interesting behaviors from your reptiles and bring your tanks to life. Here in 6-8 months, most of the ground will be taken over by many of the plants I’ve chosen. What do y’all think? All thoughts and opinions welcome.

Update 3 on my ball python 180g build

Added more plants, humidity is stable at 75% and temp is stable at 85F. I have fans to dehumidify as needed (they are rigged to the prob on the right. All that’s left is running irrigation and putting plastic grading to prevent escape.

Update 1 got the base level done, next is the hardware

So I added my fan systems hydroton base, weed guard layer and some plants. I have another cork round and the water dish to add as well. Still feels spars with plants but I’ll be adding more tomorrow.

180 gallon ball python build

So many of you guys might have come across my builds and probably know I go all out when I make planted tanks and vivariums. For this build I need some help, i will be ordering an irrigation system rigged to a soil prob for the plants I choose to grow in here, barrina lights for lighting (8 pack of 3 ft lights) an exhaust fan to cover the hole and to maintain my humidity level (rigged to an inkbird humidity sensor), heat pad for under tank heating, lights will be on a timer and finally many branches and logs for climbing and general exploring. Tank was a free 180 gallon and tbh I think it’ll work perfect for something like this. I don’t want to do the basic pathos and peace lily build with this, I’ve worked with well over 80 species of micro ferns, 200 species of orchids, dozens of carnivorous plants and hundreds of aquatic plant species, I’d much rather do some unique plants in here, I was thinking grass like bush plants, shrubs and vining plants, I have multiple plants in my collection like my dark lord philo, devil monstera, albo monstera, thai con, 15 different cultivars of bromeliads etc. I was debating on finishing my zz collection and adding them to this tank, but I want a dynamic build with paths for my snake to slither around. Any ideas? All recommendations are appreciated!
