thinking seriously about applying for hsfy for 2027 but wondering if there's a decent ratio of older/graduate students doing it? it's definitely not a huge deal because i'm 21 with an april birthday but I would like to know roughly how much of the hsfy cohort is not coming straight out of high school
in general, if anyone here applied to hsfy as a graduate or slightly older student i'd love to ask some questions :)
maybe the dumbest question ever. but can you get into graduate medicine with a bachelor of arts from the university of canterbury with 8.24 gpa or do you have to do the first year health science/biomed pathway
just graduated with a BA in English Literature and Spanish. haven't taken a science class of any kind since I was 13. notable lack of problem solving and logical reasoning skills. childhood dream was to become an author, but that's clearly a bit of an issue. job market makes me want to kms. where I'm from it's extremely competitive to get into med school and my intelligent best friend attempted and failed so I should probably be more realistic.
however just started dating a guy in his last year of med school and it's made me really competitive. I don't want to be a corporate social media sloppist dating an oncologist... so the solution is obvious. I cram khan academy and high school textbooks and become a doctor too. I'm seriously considering this. Only problem is I'm 21 now so will be crumbling into dust among the rest of the first year med students and won't have a job until I'm 27. other than that I trust I could do it idk
do not understand the mystifying decision certain people make to come to the library and spend the whole time loudly honkingly coughing and sniffing with no mask 😭😭😭 you are selfish 😭😭😭 just stay home 😭😭😭
