Were horses rare in the Edo period?

I'm watching a Japanese drama called Jin. There's a lot of going back and forth between Tokyo and Kyoto. While the characters went to Kyoto by ship once or twice, it seems like they also walk there a lot.

Was it seriously common to just carry all your stuff and walk between Kyoto and Edo? It would take at least a couple weeks, I'd think. Or did people use horses to travel long distances as well? I know I've seen horse-mounted samurai, but I can't remember seeing paintings of horse drawn carriages.

Having trouble with Bricks component for a card.

I need to make some cards to show of color swatches. It's basically a block containing another block which will show the color, an a title element below that to show the HEX code.

It seems in Bricks we can't make background color one of the editable fields in a component. How should I go about making a card where I can change that block's background color as well as what the text says while keeping all the other elements of the card the same?

I love the occasional lyric that doesn’t rhyme

There are some songs where you’re expecting the singer to rhyme the next line. And they unexpectedly throw you a curve ball. It’s so interesting and can be so catchy.
Does anyone else out there like this technique?

A few examples:

Good Vibrations
Close my eyes, she’s somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind
When I look in her eyes,
She goes with me to a blossom world

Don’t Dream it’s Over
Now I’m walking again
To the beat of a drum
And I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart

Only shadows ahead
Barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release

Self Control
In the night, no control
Through the wall, something’s breaking
Wearing white as you’re walking
Down the street of my soul.

The most out of character thing creed ever said

When Dwight brings in the roadkill goose, Phyllis says, “I like goose. It's already dead. Is it so crazy that we eat it?

Creed says, “That's crazy. It's crazy.”

But what was he really thinking?

Going through my first rewatch. Creed talking to Meredith in The Convention was way too funny.

Angela walks out of the break room leaving her cereal on the table. Creed sits down and starts eating it and says to Meredith "Andrea is the office bitch. You'll get used to her."

Then he says "Creed" and holds out his hand to shake. The look on Meredith's face. It completely surprised me and made me burst out. He's in such another world. Amazing.

Just started using Desktop app. Is there a way to share Chrome screen with it?

I'm using ChatGPT to help me fill out some settings on certain websites. I've been taking screen shots and using those, but with the desktop app is there a way to just let it see your chrome screen directly? I'm on Mac by the way.

Finally got to finish the series. What a crazy show. (Gonna be some spoilers in here.)

I'm in Japan, and Netflix just recently added the last 5 seasons which I finally finished last night.

Some the things I've taken away from this show:

Almost all the actors are fantastic, but Steve Carell and Ed Helms are exceptionally good. They both managed to make me hate their guts one minute and then cheer them on or get teary-eyed the next.

Pam was right. Jim did change. For those last 2 seasons he seemed so different that when he finally comes back to the office, going back to "old pranky Jim" almost seemed a bit forced.

I was surprised by how emotional and weepy I got with the Angela and Dwight romance. Rain Wilson played Dwight in such a sincere way that when he showed emotion, it felt real. And man, Angela Kinsey brought it at the end as well. Her poor character was really put through the wringer.

The onslaught of famous cast members was amazing. From Will Ferrell to Cathey Bates and James Spader. They all did so well. I think they kept Will Ferrell's character in just long enough.

I loved Erin. Having a character who was so excited about everything was funny as hell. I just thought the last couple of episodes tried tying her story up way too quickly and neatly.

Just a fantastic show overall. I'm about 13 years late to the party, but it was so worth it.

Now I'm left wanting to know more about Creed and what kind of dark secrets Toby has.

Can you identify this writing beside 富士山?

My dad sent me a pic of this bottle he has. I probably gave it to him years ago. He removed the paper to give me a clearer view. But I can'T understand what the right kanji say.
Any help would be appreciated.

Supe simple Github GUI for mac.

*Typo: Super simple (not supe)

Hello. I've just been learning a bit about Github so I can so version tracking on websites with a colleague. Basically, we just want to check the status, do adds and commits, and push and pulls for the time being. (Like I said, just learning it.)

Is there a very simple GUI we can use?

Can I Keep Links tab open when I click outside Illustrator?

I'm on a mac. I sometimes want to organize files I'm using in an illustrator project. Right now, I can see a file in Links, but when I click outside of Illustrator to open the Finder, it disappears. It would be so convenient if that panel would just stay open? Is there a way to make it do that?

How many repeated videos is Youtube going to show me?!

Edit: Just learned there is a subscription feed I never noticed. Thanks to all of you who pointed that out.

I've probably got over 100 subscriptions to youtube channel. I've subscribed to them because I'm interested in what they post and want to watch their videos. But over the past couple of weeks, I've been getting more and more videos I've already watched show up from the same three or four channels I've recently watched. Then when I click not interested, I have to tell Youtube it's because I've already seen it.

In all their multi-billion dollar power, they can't tell what I've already watched it?

I rarely go to Starbucks, but when I did, it was specifically for this delicious scone with massive chunks of chocolate in it. Filling, delicious, goes perfect with coffee.

I went in yesterday and saw the scone is now less than half as big as before. It’s like a glorified chocolate chip cookie now.

There have been a lot of items here that I find once or twice, and then they just disappear.

I just wanted my big triangular chocolate chip scone.
