I blame the parents

This year, we have seen an increasing incidence of violence at school. I've read somewhere here in Reddit that existing na daw to before but hindi lang tayo aware kasi walang social media, pero it can't be denied na halos wala tayong shooting or stabbing incidents sa mga schools before; ngayon, sobrang dami na.

If you're a parent, it is your responsibility to raise your kids into a safe, productive member of the society. Pero i rarely see this now. Kids nowadays are being raised as entitled, spoiled brats with no sense of accountability and responsibility or any form of resilience. Parang di na uso yung discipline at home, and we just let our kids be na parang di na turuan kung ano yung mabubuting asal in public. Parents are refusing to take accountability in raising their kids with good manners and right conduct, and minsan ang parents pa mismo ang nagmo-model ng bad behavior and proud pa sila nyan to post on social media. Worse, teachers are being blamed for these students behavior, as if they're paid enough, eh konting discipline lang coming from a teacher, bashed agad sa social media by the parents.

I quit being a teacher and I don't have kids, and i am glad i did both.

Some people are worried about the drastic decline of population in the Philippines, pero i think how we're raising kids today is a much more risk for the future of humanity.

Thoughts nyo on this?

Plumber Recommendations

Hello.

Anyone who can recommend a trustworthy plumber?

Our sink drainaged has been leaking and we want it checked and fixed.

If you can recommend someone like a handyman who can also do all sorts of repairs and backyard cleaning - it would really be great; but the priority right now is the sink.

I can't seem to find the old group on Facebook.

Feel free to DM if you're sharing their contact numbers. Thank you.

I crave and miss PAN-Q

I crave and miss PAN-Q badly.

Anybody knows what happened to them?

Their sub were really good and their sauce was mouthwatering. Anybody who could share their recipe if wala na silang balak bumalik? Thank you.

Working in a government office.

I'm just venting about how I feel because I'm annoyed.

I am just an Administrative Aide 6, and these other so-called Administrative Officers, but the work feels more like an Administrative Aide I. They just chat a lot and are really irresponsible. It's embarrassing.

Part of the corruption, Ma'ams and Sirs.

There are even leaders who tolerate the actions of incompetent people in government offices as long as they have someone to send to make their coffee or run personal errands at the banks. You should be embarrassed, Ma'ams and Sirs; those government employees aren't your personal aides. With your big salaries, you should hire personal drivers and nannies.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for some legal perspective on two situations where I feel I'm being penalized for not having children.

  1. On Workload (Labor Law):

I am married but childless. I’ve noticed that my employer consistently assigns me a significantly heavier workload compared to my colleagues who have children. The justification seems to be that because I don’t have "family obligations" like school runs or childcare, I have "more time" to handle the extra slack.

Does this constitute discrimination under the Labor Code? Is there any jurisprudence regarding "parental status" being used as a basis for unequal work distribution?

  1. On Family Contributions (Family Law/Financial):

In my family, because I am married without kids, there is a heavy expectation for me to be the primary breadwinner or provide a "mas malaking ambag" (larger financial contribution) to our household/extended family. The reasoning is always "wala ka naman kasing binubuhay na bata." (You aren't supporting a child anyway.)

Is there a legal concept of "financial discrimination" or "economic abuse" within the family setting for this kind of situation? Or is this strictly a civil/private matter between family members?

Would appreciate any insights or relevant Republic Acts I should look into. Thank you!
