Power turned off in new rental (OH, US)

Hi! On October 1st, my husband and I moved into a duplex in Ohio. We were asked by the landlord to put the power bill in our name and we called the company to do so. The power company told us that our power should have been off and that our meter was reading as not on in their system. There was power from the day we moved in. They sent a worker to come look at it and we were given a notice that the power would be shut off due to the meter being tampered with. Our landlord claims to not know what happened and is offering to take money off our rent if we stay in a hotel until the issue is resolved. I am not comfortable doing this, as we have just moved in and don’t have the funds to stay in a hotel for an undisclosed amount of time. Is there anything we can do about the electricity being off? If we are able to break out of the lease because of this, we would like to. Our landlord has been very flippant about the whole situation and it worries us about being here in the long term.

Driving School for Adults

Hi!
I, 22F, embarrassingly do not have my drivers license. I am extremely anxious behind the wheel and am looking for recommendations of driving schools that will work with me and my anxiety. I signed up for one and it was just three hours of classes and an hour of driving and it did not help ease my anxiety at all. Thank you!

Autistic Child not Receiving an Education! Pls Help Me!

Hi if this is not allowed by all means take it down but I would love to be pointed in the right direction if possible.

For context, my MIL has taken responsibility of one of my nieces in all aspects of her life including schooling. The autistic child in question is 8 years old and should be entering the third grade this fall. My MIL pulled her out of public school very quickly into her kindergarten year and has been homeschooling her since. My problem with this has come from the lack of education and learning that they are actually doing. My niece has not been taught since November of last year. She has done absolutely zero school work or instruction since before Thanksgiving. I am incredibly worried about my niece as this is not the only way they are failing her in life. She cannot do any basic hygiene by herself, she cannot make snacks by herself, basically she is dependent on my MIL. I also want to note that she is autistic but she is functioning. She can read and write, speak her mind, and could be a functioning child with the proper tools. I am wondering is there anything I can do for her regarding schooling? We are in SC and they do not require standardized testing for homeschooled children so I fear that she will be swept under the rug and will never have a solid chance at life. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Numbness in my lip and chin

Hi, I just got my wisdom teeth removed today at 3:00pm and it is now 11:30pm and the numbness in my bottom lip and chin are still bothering me. I’m super nervous that I have nerve damage because my teeth were close to my nerves. I’m honestly just looking for support that it will be ok because I have crazy anxiety, did anybody else deal with numbness and how long did it take for the numbness to go away? Thank you all so much, this subreddit really alleviated my fears before I went in for it.
