Completed C2C Caron Cloud Cakes in "Fir" ~5'x6'

Completed my second C2C with Caron Cloud Cakes Perfect Phasing, this time larger and in their color "Fir." Used a 3.75mm hook and 6 cakes. Used about 2.25 cakes to increase, 1 to build up the rectangle , about 2.25 to decrease, and half a cake to complete 3 rows of border.

I noticed my final cake was from 2026 was different compared to the others being from 2025. I didn't like how the 2025 yarn could pull apart by hand, or that the thickness of the yarn varied through out the project. But I noticed with the 2026 the yarn, the yarn thickness was a lot more consistent and it didn't pull apart when tugging on it. Before the last cake, I had decided I'll never use this yarn again. Now I'm reconsidering. I hope the new yarn stays more durable and consistent!

Finally gave Filet Crochet a try and wanted to compare ch1(left) vs ch2(right) for future projects. I think I prefer ch1, how do you decide which will work best for your selected pattern?
