What are your long term reviews of the 2022-ish Tucson Hybrids?

Im in the market for one and i would like to hear from people that have had them for a while. im interested in putting a lot of miles into mine, since I plan on doing road trips plus use it as a gig vehicle (uber, spark, turo, etc)

so my guess is that i will put about 20 to 30k miles per year on it.

My biggest concern is that it has a turbocharged engine and all the long term wear and tear that it brings about. of course the hybrid engine and smart cruise control help with wear and tear, but i would have loved a naturally aspirated engine instead. anyways the model im looking at has a turbo.

also, how is the transmission on it. ?

Do the sewers ar white rock lake dump their water into the lake?

So, a while back i was a white rock lake, and i noticed that at one of the creeks in the lake, there were human logs floating on it. They seemed to come from a sewer line that led directly to that creek.

Im not sure if that creek then connected to the lake, i mean it was literally pointing to it.

Also, i dont know if it was sewer from the newrby houses, or the public restrooms at the lake.

America's Irrational obsession with PIT BULLS

I just watched a video about a babysitter that got mauled to death by 3 pitt bulls and i had to vent for a little bit.

I just cannot understand why American's are so obsessed with pitt bulls literally the most dangerous dog breed became america's top choice for dog ownership

(if this triggered you , keep reading for the full context before you write an angry comment)

I understand that not all pittbulls are agressive, i personally had a great experience with a super gentle pittbull that my friend had. it inmediately got attached to me and every time i went to visit them, it would seek me out to sit next to me and lay its head on my lap. my friend said she had never gotten that attached to anyone outside of the family.

yes, lots of RESPONSIBLE families have gentle and loving pittbulls, i get that. this particular owner was a dog lover who literally recued dogs as her hobby. so she of course was a responsible dog owner and that reflected on her dog.

the issue is when you have an irresponsible dog owner (a huge percent of the population) then you have a dog that could become a loose weapon at any time. and yes, that can happen with any breed I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT, but you never hear news about a person being mauled to death by a chihuahua, or a weenie, or a puddle.

and i mean, just examine the name; PITT BULL..

PITT comes from the fact that this specific race was bred specifically for the FIGHTING PITTS. they specifically chose dogs with aggresive instincts and a physiology that made them good at killing other dogs and animals.

BULL comes fromt he fact that they were bred to also FIGHT BULLS, they were bred to have jaws strong enough to latch onto a raging bull and not let go. which is why their jaws dont let go when they are mauling a human.

so when things go south, pittbulls are one of, if not, the most dangerous breed.

and what i dont understand, is how, having SOOOO MANY hundreds of breeds to choose from, MOST people chose to latch onto this one breed. specifically this one. no other breed will suffice, it has to be the one that was bred specifically for the fighting pitts.

when i go to my local shelter, a shelter that i frequent a lot. it is like 70% pittbulls, 20% labrador retrievers, and 10% every other race COMBINED.

and it is irresponsible owners that are the cause for that. people who get a pittbull and dont know what they're signing up for.

and these dogs rarely get adopted, which means most of them will end up euthanized. so america's irrational obsession with pittbulls ends up being the worst thing that could happen to pittbulls.

my local shelter is always past full capacity. and at it's worst point was euthanizing 80% of the dogs that came in. this is the true cost of america's irrational obsession with pittbulls.

they had reduced that percentage drastically when they first got on social media, but my guess is that their numbers are back that high, if not higher. most of the posts they make now are about being so far above full capacity and about needing enmergency adoptions for dogs that are about to be euthanized. and it has been years since they have posted their euthanization numbers, so my guess is that those numbers arent pretty.

if you love pittbulls, go to any shelter, they will give you as many as you want because theyre flooded with them.

and i call it irrational because people have every reason to choose a different dog but they always go for the pittbull, at least until they realize what they signed up for, and either let the dog escape, or surrender it to the shelter.

I mean, just the fact that most appartment complexes dont allow pittbulls should tell you something. ive seen appartments that will say they dont allow pittbuls and other large breeds. (emphasis on how they single out pittbulls)

and YES, i know theres other agressive breeds and that most dog bites are caused by small breeds. but you cant get mauled to death by a chihuahua. it isnt just about how agressive they are or not, it is about which breed has more potential to end a life when things go south.

ive been bitten by agressive chihuahuas before, i dont even have the scars from those bites. ive been chased down by pittbulls before, and if they had caught up to me, i might not be telling this story right now. I had a neighbor who was mauled by their pittbull. when the police got there, the pittbull had him by the neck, in a puddle of not ketchup (im trying not to get censored) and the dog would not let go so the police had to pew pew the dog, and the wife was screaming at them "why did you K my dog?!!!! why did you K my dog?!!!!!) i never saw her husband again, so i dont know if he didnt make it, or if he didnt want to go back to live with that crazy person.

I also had another experience where i witness a guy trying to get his pittbull into his car when leaving the park. it was a big guy and the dog was still able to over power him and break lose and go chasing after a bunch of kids. luckily the dog didnt target one specific kid and was running around in all directions, and the owner was able to catch up to it and grab it. but not after his dog traumatized a bunch of kids.

anyways, america's irrational obsession with pittbulls results in hundreds of thousands of pittbuls being euthanized each year, and resulted in the unaliving of a promising young baby sitter that was just taking care of some pittbuls that she trusted and was familiar with.

she was a beautiful 23 year old soon to be school teacher, who was full of life and her life got cut short in the most horrible way possible. she had been mauled so horrendously that the paramedics working on her took a while to know if that was a man or a woman, let that sink in.

anyways. I know im gonna get downvoted to oblivion, and most people will ignore all the arguments i made here and just latch onto the parts that they dislike, and throw hate based on one narrowed down part of my argument, without providing a rational counter-argument, or take my words out of context.

but i dont care. this is a hill im willing to die on.

here is the video that inspired this rant if you care to watch it.

The viltrumite belt is 10% cool, 90% dumb. (yes I did the math, those measurements are precise)

https://preview.redd.it/ab8az2bsk59h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=195ce485fbc286d36b47edbdf77f431716eb7aeb

when I first watched the scene , my first thought was "why arent they burning the bodies?" then i was like "oh, of course, they wouldnt burn, nice detail"

but when i saw them dumping them im space i was like, "well, dont do that though"

I mean, they want to keep the virus a secret, and then have their secret just floating in space? not to mention that the coldness of space might keep the virus frozen, ready to be used in the future. even if the virus cant live in space, which it probably can if it is in their frozen blood, but assuming it doesnt survive, any advance culture can retrieve a dead sample and recreate it's DN structure.

of course there's the fact that not many planets would dare to go near viltrum, but still a single spy ship can get close enought to take pictures of the huge ring of viltrumites surrounding the planet.

i think it would have been cooler if they just flew the cargo ships straight into the nearest sun. yes the sun might not burn the bodies (although it probably can) but at least it could kill the virus and no one would be able to retrieve a sample from there.

my guess is that the writers just needed the cool visual of the viltrum belt, but someone else made a post where they calculated that there needed to be trillions of viltrumites in order to form a ring around the planet.

the ring is just plain dumb. i loved the visual of the cloud of bodies, but when they did the reveal of the ring, i inmediately called BS on it, and thought it was dumb.

People laughing at everything the boss says.

in every job ive been in this dynamic always takes place. the boss holds court and everyone laughs hysterically at any dumb joke they make. no and sometimes it turns into a contest to see who laughs the loudest.

I never take part of those dynamics but sometimes when i hear all my coworkers frantically laughing i pop in thinking that im missing out on some good jokes. but they always laugh at the lamest most mundane jokes. it's never about the jokes, it is about getting the boss to notice that theyre laughing.

what really grinds my gears, is that those people, the type that laugh competitively, are the vast majority of the world. if you dont laugh at every little joke your boss makes, you are a minority

What if Tywin had inmediately married tyrion & sansa and sent them to winterfell? (read description)

tell me how you see this scenario playing out and see if you can find any plotholes.

Tywin marries tyrion and sansa with a handful of important witnesses to legitimize the marriage. he does this behind joffreys back kowing full well that jeoffrey will explode with anger but jeof is too busy with the wedding, and tywin knows that jeoffrey will be taken out anyways

(for added context, i strongly believe that tywin secretly gave the nod to olenna to take out jeoffrey. the only reason tywin blamed tyrion in the main story was to get rid of tyrion , take the blame away from the tyrells and to stop cercei from investigating who did it. after the wedding jeofrey was not a useful tool anymore, and his rule would be a threat to tywin and the ream directly, so replacing him with tommen was a way to secure peace of mind for both tywin and olenna)

in this timeline , jeoffrey still dies but they find a different scapegoat. maybe blame it on an assasin sent by daenerys ,since they tried to poison her, but you can come up with your own scapegoat, i havent thought about this too much.

so before the wedding tywin inmediately sends Tynsa (tyrion+sansa) off to winterfell as subjects of roose bolton.

tywin isnt dumb, so he sends them with a combined retinue of lannister and tyrell troops. im thinking 1k from each house, with an additional 2k from each house following soon after.

the troops will act as bodyguards, but also help qualm any rebellions and settle the north.

the boltons will still rule the north, but Tynsa will rule Winterfell to keep a Lannister eye in the north but also help calm tensions by having a stark ruling again. it would also weaken any rebellions should any of the missing starks re-appear. Tyrion will be in charge of helping the boltons settle the north, and use his skills to identify and befriend any houses that were already disloyal to the starks. once the north is settled, the winterfell garrison will also serve as the staging grounds and supply center for future incursions to the riverlands.

Tyrion will be allowed to make a stop at the vale and recruit about 500 mountain clansman and turn them into his personal guards and salesword company (alternatively he could offer them land, but my guess is they would prefer the gold and weapons since they might not want to abandon claim to the vale) this will give them extra troops, but will also empower the clansman so they can cause caos in the vale and be a lanister wildcard for future vale negotiations.

the Tynsa caravan might also stop to recruit some greyjoy troops and also make multiple stops to grab arrested criminals to be shipped to the wall and keep an eye on jon snow

having combined lannister and tyrell troops would also guarantee that if there is a large attack on winterfell coming from a rebel northern army, a backstabbing bolton army, the greyjoys, or stannis... it would be the perfect excuse to send a larger lannister and tyrell army. Tyrion would just need to hold winterfell and wait for backup to arrive. if the boltons attack, it would also be the perfect excuse to take them out and make tynsa rulers of the north.

to dissuade any bolton betrayal, the combined number of Tynsa troops would be kept at 6k . enough to defend from the boltons, but not enough to take the deadfort (because the boltons have the homefield advantage)

as the north gets settled, the southern troops would be slowly shipped back in groups of a few hundreds at a time and get replaced with loyal nothern troops. Tyrion would be kept safe by his personal salesword company but also by a permanent lannister garrison which will have the added duty of mapping the north and become acquainted with northern warfare tactics in case of any future lannister incursions.

so while that happens in the north, in kingslanding tommen and margery live hapily ever after. tommen lives in blissful ignorance while tywin is the hand of the king and the real power in the throne. the high sparrows get taken out before they ever become a thing. Cercei gets married to loris, and jamie gets released from the kingsguard (on account of his missing hand) and made ruler of lannisport.

to keep cercei and jamie happy, both jamie and loris are added to the small council so that jamie can have an excuse to be away from his future wife and close to cercei.

jamie and cercei get to work, and the tyrells are satisfied when cercei produces a male heir. Both olenna and tywin turn a blind eye to the fact that the heir is very blonde. Olenna is just happy that they have a male heir (which loris would be unlikely to produce otherwise), and although Olenna knows who the real father is, what matters to her is that the name remains tyrell. Cercei will never reveal the true parentage because that would be an inmediate death sentence to her and all her children. so for all intents and purposes Cercei's heir is a legit tyrell.

so at the end of these pacts, the lannister/tyrell alliance/grip-on-power would be as strong as it could be, the north would be secured by 12k loyal troops, the riverlands would be facing a stronger threat, and the stormlands would be either already taken or free for the taking.
