Japan 10Y Bond Yield Since 2022 | Animated Chart

How high could Japan's 10Y JGB yield realistically go?

https://youtu.be/xx9Ns154JME

Japan has one of the highest debt-to-GDP ratios in the world. If the 10Y JGB yield keeps rising, at what point do debt-servicing costs become a major concern, and would the BOJ step in before that happens?

Automated 4K protein structure cinematography generated from a PDB file

I've been experimenting with a prototype molecular visualization workflow that automatically transforms a protein structure into a cinematic walkthrough.

Starting from a PDB structure, the workflow:

Generates a molecular/cartoon representation

*Identifies ligands

*Detects structural features

*Generates labels and annotations

*Creates feature-centered camera shots

*Builds a multi-feature narrative

*Exports a 4K visualization

The goal is to reduce some of the manual work involved in preparing molecular visualizations for presentations, publications, teaching, and scientific communication.

I'm interested in feedback from the chemistry community:

* When presenting molecular structures, what parts of the visualization process are most time-consuming?

* Do you currently create animations for talks or teaching?

* What information would you most like to see highlighted automatically in a molecular walkthrough?

Canada Electricity Generation Mix (2005–2050) – Animated Visualization of Energy Transition

This video shows how Canada’s electricity generation mix evolves from 2005 to 2050, based on data and projections from the Canada Energy Regulator. Hydro remains a dominant and stable source throughout the period. Nuclear continues to provide consistent baseload generation. Wind and solar grow significantly in the 2020s and 2030s, reflecting the expansion of renewable energy. Natural gas and other sources fluctuate as the system transitions toward lower carbon emissions. The visualization highlights both the changing proportions of energy sources and the overall growth in electricity generation over time. Data source: Canada Energy Regulator (CER)

China vs India: Population Shift in Motion (1970–2050 Dynamic Bar Charts)

We animated the demographic changes of China and India from 1970 to 2050 using dynamic bar charts. It’s fascinating to see how both countries rise, peak, and diverge over time — especially the long‑term shift in population momentum.

Data source: PopulationPyrmaid.net
Tooling: Python + custom visualization engine

I’m curious what others think:

  • Which decade surprised you the most?
  • Do you think India’s demographic momentum will reshape global economics?
  • How do you interpret China’s population peak and decline in this context?

Would love to hear your thoughts and interpretations.

If you’d like a dynamic chart for your own dataset, feel free to reach out at YDLab.io.

A dynamic look at US equity risk vs return since 2020. Interesting relationships between the index volatilities and performances can be observed.

* Higher volatility doesn't always correspond to worse performance.

* NASDAQ tends to occupy the higher-volatility, higher-return region.

* The Dow is generally the most stable, clustering in low-volatility zones.

We put together an animated bar‑chart visualization showing the Top 20 countries with the highest inflation rates in 2025.

Data source: IMF
Metric: Year‑over‑year consumer price inflation (2025)

• Which countries stand out to you?
• Do the rankings match what you expected?
• Any structural or policy factors you think explain the outliers?

Happy to hear your thoughts — always appreciate the discussions in this subreddit.
