What if part of the NSCR project includes building a linear park from Alabang to Caloocan? In this way, folks who rely on pedal power can have the option of going to their destination on their bikes?
The Center for Strategic & International Studies came out again with an excellent piece, Flipping the Script. How to Hold China's New Carriers at Risk, on how the US and its allies in the region can exploit the current direction of the PLAN, in its accelerated build of CVNs and LHAs.
Definitely, the Luzon Straits is holding out as the gateway for the PLAN into the Pacific Ocean, and it is in this chokepoint where strategy can be dictated. Of course, in this case, we are holding the southern goalpost of the Luzon Straits, this also means we are holding the key to the southern flank of Taiwan, and could ensure their resupply and possibly even their democracy.
If there was anything that the Philippine government can draw from this article from CSIS, I believe we should work in the following areas:
Would love to hear my fellow's insight on this.
I watched Eskapo on YouTube the other day, and fell into the rabbit hole of watching interviews of people who got jailed for speaking against a sitting President or against corruption. It was moving to see these men, like Geny Lopez, Serge Osmeña, Ninoy Aquino, Gerry Gambala, and Jun Lozada strengthen in their faith despite being behind bars.
But, what moved me most is this interview of Lozada, who said that despite what happened to him his love for the country became strong “at nagniningning!”
I can’t help but ask, how can someone who experienced the system failing him, and even sending him to Bilibid would even love the country more?
It also made me realize somehow that this whole country has really been imprisoned and hostaged by the Trapos.
We are really on crossroad this 2028, whether our generation will go to sleep and hand over this country to the TraPos or if we really want to defang them, and once again tayo mga tao ang boss.
If you read defense blogs, the Philippine Navy is looking at acquiring 2 diesel-electric attack submarines.
What if the DND announced that the government will acquire 12 submarines stating “The acquisition is intended to strengthen our undersea deterrence, enhance maritime security, and ensure that any nation contemplating actions that threaten our national security and regional stability must reassess the risks and the consequences.”
What would be the impact to the dynamics in the KIG, Bajo de Masinloc, and Luzon Straits.
Hi guys! Sorry for the novice question. Just visiting Edmonton.
I was just wondering if there was any way what time and where is it best to view Auroras tonight?
One thing I’ve noticed at several Philippine Navy installations, and more recently at some Philippine Coast Guard bases, is the apparent lack of shore power and dedicated water connections for vessels while alongside.
As a result, ships often have to keep one or more generators running even when docked. That means additional fuel consumption, more engine wear, increased maintenance requirements, and unnecessary noise.
With both services continuing to expand—the PN planning additional Naval Operating Bases (NOBs) and the PCG developing more regional bases—it appears that newer facilities may finally incorporate shore power infrastructure. If so, that would be a welcome development.
Another possibility might be for the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to consider integrating shore power capability into future port development projects, particularly at ports frequently used by PN and PCG vessels. This could potentially provide benefits not only for government vessels but also for commercial shipping in the future.
For those with experience in naval or coast guard operations, how common is shore power in existing PN and PCG facilities? Are there technical, budgetary, or operational reasons why it has not been more widely implemented?
This is something I’ve been curious about, given the potential savings in fuel, maintenance, and generator operating hours.
I checked Google Earth and checked the historical images of Baseco Compound, and I was quite surprised that the area wasn't fully reclaimed as of June 2001. I had the impression before that the whole reclamation there was done during the time of the FE Marcos Admin.
I cannot share the FB link here so I am sharing the screenshot instead. This they say was at the Valle Verde Country Club.
Well, it’s Mabanta alright. The NBI agent also went to the end of the room and positively identified the maletas.
It makes me wonder how this really went about. It seemed they were really amateur over this attempted extortion. After receiving the marked money they all went to Valle Verde Country Club to meet and turn over the money. I wonder why there? Why not say at a resthouse in the province or in their own safehouse?
From the news they mention that SWOH’s security team the VP-SPG number about 400-500.
If SWOH gets impeached or doesn’t win the 2028 elections, what will happen to the careers of the officers of the VP-SPG?
Kung iisipin kasi basa na papel ng CO and Ex-O nila. Siyempre yung mga officers na umangat based out of merits medyo iba ang tingin dun sa mga officers na umangat kasi dumikit sa mga makapangyarihan. What would be the option of those officers of the VP-SPG?
