What if you could change a fairly small part of history?

What if you could change a fairly small part of history?

You get to change someone quite trivial to Philippine history, but it could balloon to a big change.

(My pick would be the Americans left the Philippine administration slightly earlier on June 12,1946 and not July 4)

What if our pre-colonial ancestors independently developed a concept of Motte and Bailey Castle

Alternate Scenario: During the 14th Century, one Tagalog Datu decided to raise the entire land of his own residence, creating a compound where all of his needs are enclosed inside a square enclosure. This began the development of Fortified Maginoo Residence compound composing of the Main House, weaving house or Banquet hall, the grand kitchen, tools workshops and storage sheds. As time goes by, several facilities from other Maginoo Residences are added: Guest Recieving house, Small Altar, Bath house, well and an Out house. It flourished in the late 14th to 15th century making the Residence complex more intricate and well defended. During the arrival of the Spanish, most of the Maginoo Residences called Kota Maginoo are composed of two parts: the Kota Ibaba or the Lower Fort, where the old residential complex of the noble Maginoo that turned into a functioning small town inside supplying the upper fortress called the Kota Itaas or the raised Fortress where the Lord of the realm or the Maginoo and his Family lives.

I took inspiration from the Bali Courtyard house, bahay kubo, the Japanese Castle, Maranao Torogan, and the European Motte and Bailey castle.

What if Leni Robredo had run for Governor of Camarines Sur instead of Mayor of Naga in 2025?

before her decision to run for Mayor of Naga, many people in Camarines Sur hoped that Leni Robredo would run for governor to challenge the long dominant Villafuerte dynasty.

What if she run for governor of Camarines Sur instead?

could she have defeated a political dynasty that has dominated the province for four decades? If elected, how would her leadership have changed governance, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic development in Camarines Sur?

would her achievements have been less visible to the rest of the country compared to serving as Mayor of Naga City? or could a successful governorship have strengthened her chances for another national campaign in the future?

what do you think would have happened?

What If the Philippines had established early on having a single carrier strike group (CSG) with an armada consisting of a single nuclear powered Nimitz class aircraft carrier, a fleet of escorts destroyers, cruisers, supply ships and single submarine for maritime defense purposes?

The objective is for it to establish a strong core for the Philippine Navy, serving as the foundation for its future growth. From this base, the Philippines can progressively expand its naval capabilities by acquiring and integrating additional ships over time, ultimately strengthening the overall fleet or fleets.

What if Miriam Defensor Santiago is still alive?

With the complexities that are troubling the government, given that the crimes and corruption is not addressed properly, will she be able to help us in solving these cases with no ease?

What if America decided to further extend the Commonwealth to actually be exactly 10 years with no Japanese interference?

While the Commonwealth was declared on November 15, 1935, it was basically interrupted with the Japanese occupation from 1942 to 1945. After all, November 1945 was the original planned end of the Commonwealth and start of independence. Hence, Independence would be moved to 1948 or 1949.

What if everyone in the Philippines switched to Linux?

Based on articles I've read on EU governments ditching Microsoft and Apple in favor of Linux I wonder what would happen if a whole country ditched these tech giants in favor of FOSS and Linux, What would be the reaction of giants, Will Game developers consider making their games work better on Linux, or Will it change the whole Tech industry for better or worse,

What if more Bus Carousel systems were established? Where would you like to see them implemented?

The EDSA Bus Carousel received mixed reactions when it was first introduced, but over time it has become an important part of Metro Manila's public transportation system, especially during peak hours.

It made me wonder....

If more Bus Carousel systems were built, where would you like to see them implemented?

It could be another major corridor in Metro Manila or even in other cities across the country.

Which roads or areas do you think would benefit the most from a dedicated bus lane or Carousel BRT system?

Curious to know your insights and thoughts on this.

What if we leaned into the Balangay as national identity

I mean we kinda do but not really which is weird because it reflects upon our basic governing unit: the barangay.

we can reasonably lean into balangay, sea based theme tourism/nationbuilding campaign by making lgus make a city balangay regatta, colors, revival of ancient designs, rowers, include exotic costumes and festivals and market the philippines as a balangay, bangka capital of the world, and not just for foreign tourism but also for cultural revivalism to market the filipino metethnic identity as a maritime nation - essentially narrative building - praising not just ofws but specifically sea farers, shipbuilders, fishermen.

We are literally a maritime nation for thousands of years. Every single one of our loadbearing issues depends on the sea. From the west philippine sea to our literal economy and surviving storms from our punishing surrounding waters. We have more claim to maritime identity than even Hawaii whose identity only lives in a museum rather thna ours which is lived and alive.

What if Baybayin Script became our National Writing System?

The Philippines has six Writing Systems: • Baybayin Script • Kulitan Script • Hanunoo Script • Tagbanwa Script • Jawi Script • Latin Script

What if Baybayin Script became or will become our National Writing System?

It's a fascinating idea considering that other countries in Asia have their own writing systems such as China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos.

Clarification: The change in writing system from Latin Script: A, E, I, O, U to Baybayin Script: ᜀ, ᜁ, ᜂ does not mean that Latin Script will disappear completely. Latin Script will remain our official writing system just like how English language is our official language.
