photo/movie references on trashy glamour ?

Hello! Im looking for movie recommendations / photographers / images that echoes to trashy glamour, the theme of performance, intimacy.
Inspired by Diane Arbus and her striking portraits, Nadia Lee Cohen and her eye for the almost spooky, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr, John Waters, Aidan Zamiri..

I like movies/photos where the casting is reflected as a form of character building, where you get to see a unique face that is the fruit of creativity.
I love the feeling of intimacy portrayed in a fictional way, depicting something that feels real and authentic yet is entirely constructed. The theme of performance also really appeals to me, under the spotlight, delivering a show.

Let me know! Hopefully these themes and references speak to you and i hope that you can bring as many ideas and references as niche and quirky as possible aha !
Thank you !!!

what camera should I get for this look?

Hello, im a young photographer and ive been digging Reddit so much that im kind of overwhelmed by the amount of different cameras / lenses people recommend.
Here are inspos of works I enjoy and directions I’d like to take. I know most of it has to do with lighting, editing.. but still! I’m looking for a good, easy to work with film camera / lens ( most likely has an auto button just in case )

I’m happy to invest in one. My preference would be for it to be good quality but not MEGA sharp that would almost look digital, I still love a grain, and I’ve been recommended some mist filter which I might consider also.

It seems the best way would be 35mm lens ? I’m kind of lost lol so please help me out but don’t give me like 10 different references if possible cause it confuses me a bit.
It seems an older manual cam/ lens would most likely give me this look but maybe there’s an in between with one that has AF still..

Thank you so much for your help 🫶🏻 truly

Best Lens on Nikon F5 for this specific look ? ( please help )

Hello, i plan on getting the Nikon F5 because it seems easy and it has AF. I’m now on a hunt for the best lens ! Here are photo references of what I’m looking for :
Not too sharp / Not too High quality because I don’t love a digital look.
I love something that catches good color and that get a little grainy/ blurry here and there.

Hopefully you guys will get me as I’m not a super pro but I would very much appreciate some help 🫶🏻.

Thank you so much !!

What Camera + Lens should I get for a Nadia Lee Cohen & Petra Collins' look?

Hi ! im wondering if anyone has an idea of what camera + lens I should get to have a similar look as Nadia Lee Cohen's & Petra Collins's works. I had been recommended the Nikon F5 but I'm not sure if it's the best option? it definitely looks easy to use but there are just so many lenses possibilities that its kind of overswhelming aha.. I'd love for someone to give me their honest opinion & advice ! Thank you so much if you take the time to help :)

Enjoy your day!
