InReach Mini 2 versus Mini 3 plus

How much easier is the Mini3 plus to use? I'm wondering about being in the backcountry and needing to communicate with emergency personnel. I know both have the capability to use the SOS feature, but what about for other communication?

We currently have an older InReach SE, and we take it on backpacking trips. I'm usually the one who operates it. We'd like to upgrade, and I want to make sure what we choose will be the most user-friendly option; my husband is very tech-impaired and also has poor eyesight (does bring a cheap pair of readers). I want to know whatever we choose will be the simplest to operate (thought perhaps the voice texting feature of the Mini 3 plus could fit the bill).

Appreciate any input.

We could trade in our SE for the Mini 2, which would end up costing us about $200 total. Versus the Mini 3 plus at more than double that. But if there's an obvious, huge benefit to the pricier option, we're willing to consider it.

Are people actually using CoT are tickets?

I know some folks are fed up with Cash or Trade these days, but I also know I can't post any extra tickets here. Is there another option?

Cannot wait for some CA shows!

Mountain Hardwear Alakazam

Any thoughts on this pack? I see some good reviews online. I had the opportunity to purchase one of these for 70% off.

I’m not a hard-core ultralighter, just someone who is aging with some health impacts that warrant lightening my load. I currently use the Gregory Facet pack and love it, but I am having an issue with the hip belt being a little too big for me, so a pack upgrade is not out of the question.

I’d be tempted to go with a 45, rather than the 60. I mostly do five nights or less in summer conditions. But always with a bear canister, so not sure if that’s a factor for size.

Casual restaurant for group dining?

We're trying to find a spot for a soccer team (16/17 y.o.) and parents to have a team dinner on a Saturday night. Ideally, somewhere with outdoor seating and an option to order separately at the counter or get separate bills. Total head count around 25-30.

Green Cheek Brewing worked for this once before, but curious to know if any other good options are out there that I'm not finding.
