I'm using the native google drive connector but aren't able to edit google sheets directly, only create them. What have you guys been doing?

What I've found so far.
Remote support and least amount of setup
- Zapier MCP is pretty good on sheets and supports mobile connections
- Datatorag MCP offers the same and focuses on google workspace.

Desktop support
- host xlxs files and upload to drive. not a bad workaround but can only do on desktop.
- same with libre office, move the files to drive after.

Need to be techincal
- Open-source options where you have to setup OAuth and run it locally.
- Create service account and ask claude to build it out for you.

Looking into having some cleaners come to my house every two weeks and wanted to see if there's anyone that you guys recommend, rather go through a referral.

I live in Torrance and my day job is building data/AI integration tools. Not selling anything though, I just think more people around here should know this stuff exists and figured if local businesses can leverage it, it's better for all of us.

Example: an invoice email comes in, claude reads it, updates the tracking spreadsheet, and drafts the reply. One instruction, no copy-pasting. If your work runs on Google Workspace, you'd probably get something out of it.

Thinking a coffee shop or brewery in Torrance or Redondo. I bring a laptop, show real workflows, we talk about what actually works vs what's hype.

What are people using to connect their gsuite to claude? the native one that claude comes with is very limiting (i.e. can't read/edit sheets or slides)

I built DataToRAG, an open-source MCP gateway that puts ~50 Google Workspace tools behind one OAuth endpoint: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Contacts, Tasks. It handles multiple accounts, so you can hit work and personal Gmail in the same prompt. I trimmed the tool responses so they don't blow out the context window on long conversations.

I'm going through Google's CASA Tier 2 security audit right now (mandatory for restricted Workspace scopes), so token handling, scope discipline, and storage are all under formal third-party review. If you see an "unauthorized" view when connecting your accounts it's due to still being under review.
