I need a number to have a bank account on capital one. I had an mint mobile phone but it doesn’t let me use it for the app. Can I use the tello mobile ?

Hey r/travel! I'm here to vent and share the wonderful experience an airline just gifted me on my most recent international trip.
Turns out I took my flight, and when I finally arrived at my destination, my suitcase simply decided to take a completely different route. To top it all off, the mistake happened during a layover.
After hours of stress and uncertainty, my luggage finally showed up... but honestly, I wish it had stayed lost, because:
It had someone else's tag: It showed up with the info and baggage tag of a completely random stranger. They literally put someone else's name on it.
It arrived damaged: Besides touring who knows where on its own, the suitcase came back broken and beaten up.
The headache: Now begins the endless fight trying to get the airline to take responsibility for all the damage and the emergency expenses I had to cover just because I was left without my things.
Has anything similar ever happened to any of you on an international flight? How hard was it to get the airline to compensate you for a ruined bag? Let me know!
