Taking another degree, doing non-MD job

Hello docs. Just want to hear stories of people who did something else after med school, residency, and/or fellowship.

I've seen [other threads](https://www.reddit.com/r/pinoymed/s/keaOecdnDS) and I'm still curious where MDs go, given the resources and long process it took to become a doctor. Did anyone totally pivot to something else or did something adjacent?

It's okay even if the degree and/or job is still health-related. Maybe you know someone who took a master's degree or PhD overseas. I'm mostly curious how they were able to do it—family-funded, working as GP or specialist, did someone help/guide them?

SKL Salamat PassioNails

Pag sinearch mo 'to sa google, sabi ng marami, pangit daw pag walk-in ka and hindi nag-book.

So dahil nasa area ako for an errand, nagbook ako sa website nila. Katabi sila ng LayBare and 'yung website ay under din ng LayBare.

So confirmed na 'yung booking and nag-ready na ako. Pagdating ko, may isang customer and isang nail tech na busy. May tao sa front desk, itext na lang daw sya pag meron na. Binigay nya number nya and umalis sa store.

Tapos nu'ng ako na, sabi ng receptionist, wala raw gagawa eh. 'Yung pagkasabi na may "nakapasok" sa system, para bang hindi dapat. Anyway, hindi naman pala nila chinecheck 'yon, and sayang lang time magbook, magschedule, and pumunta. Buti kung nag-text or email man lang na hindi available.

BankCom Credit Card Application Experience

**March 17** - submitted application form (requested world), valid id, selfie with valid id, and coe to cardsales@bankcom.com.ph

**March 19** - called to ask them if they received it, wala raw; 2-3 weeks processing so tawag na lang daw ako ulit next week

**March 23** - someone replied, acknowledging the application email

**March 27** - got a call from a landline number (CI)

**April 6** - received text from BankCom that card was approved and will be delivered within 10 banking days

**April 10** - received the credit card (Metro Manila area), I called their toll free number to activate the card (platinum—I didn't get the requested world, but okay). They asked me to call using my registered mobile number. They asked a number of questions during activation including employer's name. Afterwards, I received a text and an email regarding the cash advance pin.

I downloaded the BankCom app on the same day and added this new card.

**April 15** - met the spend requirement (₱150k for platinum)

**April 16** - called hotline to redeem NAFFL; hindi pa raw posted/floating pa so hindi pa pwede, call na lang on Monday

**April 21** - no transaction history in the app, tried to call customer service to redeem NAFFL but 11 minutes of waiting and I got nothing so I left a message and went on with my life

**April 22** - was able to connect to customer service, they advised confirmation may take 10 business days, but the transaction has been posted and I met the required spend. Was given a ticket number in case I'd like to follow up.

**May 9 2026** - called hotline to follow-up, provided ticket number, and was told na since "April 1" pa raw naka-tag sa system as naffl, I didn't clarify na kung baka May 1 talaga or may marereceive pa bang anything, recorded naman conversation.

Reference cards: EW and BPI, both 7 digit CL

Note: I don't exactly know anong benefit ng card na 'to over others, kasama lang sya sa collection ko and napakinabangan ko na rin many times noong April sa 50% off dining promos.
