Am I too old to be addicted to overwatch?😅

Hey everyone!

The other day I had one of those moments where my age suddenly hit me…

I’m an OG Call of Duty player. I grew up playing the original Modern Warfare, MW2 and MW3, and I even played competitively back then. That probably gives away that I’m in my 30s. 😅

I came back to Overwatch in February after not playing for years, and I’ve been absolutely hooked ever since. I usually play around an hour a day if I have time (some days not at all), and a bit more on weekends if I don’t have other plans.

After a really good Competitive game, another player added me. We chatted for a bit, and out of curiosity I asked how old he was.

He said… 20.

For some reason that really made me stop and think. I suddenly realized there’s over a 10-year age gap between us, yet we’re grinding the same ranked games together.

So it made me wonder…

Am I actually “too old” to be playing and enjoying a game like Overwatch?

I know gaming has no age limit, but I was curious how old everyone here is. Are there many people in their 30s (or even older) still grinding Competitive, or is it mostly a younger player base nowadays?

EDIT: IM SO THANKFUL FOR EACH OF THESE COMMENTS, YOU GUYS ARE LEGENDS AND THIS COMMUNITY IS AMAZING!!!!

I MADE THIS POST OUT OF CURIOSITY AND IM OVERWHELMED BY THE AMAZING COMMENTS YOU GUYS HAVE!!!!

THANK YOU🙏🏻

So close and so far at the same time

I’m getting there, very slowly… was already on 70% and went down again to 45% 🥲😅

I guess I’m still average…

Honest VOD review please

Replay Code: B0FXK5
Rank: Platinum 2
Role: Support
Platform: PS5
Hero: Juno
Map: Neon Junction
Game Length: 18:51

Hey everyone!

I started playing Overwatch again in February after not touching the game for years. I originally played back in 2016 for a couple of years, then quit completely until now.

Since coming back I’ve tried a lot of heroes, but I completely fell in love with Juno. She’s currently level 31 and I’ve been one-tricking her in Competitive. I’ve also spent way too much time watching Juno gameplay and educational content from people like Emongg, Flats, Aspen and others, and I definitely feel like I’ve improved a lot.

This game felt pretty good from my perspective. It was a tough match, but I felt comfortable throughout most of it. Looking back, I think I probably focused too much on healing and not enough on damage, but during the game it felt like keeping my team alive was the highest priority.

One thing worth mentioning is that Neon Junction is still very new to me. I’ve probably only played the map around 7 times and this was actually my first Competitive game on it.

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from experienced Juno players. Positioning, target priority, damage vs healing balance, cooldown usage, anything. My goal is to reach Diamond eventually, although I’m not sure if that’s realistic. I’ve been bouncing between Plat 3 and Plat 2, got very close to Plat 1, dropped back down, and now I’m back in Plat 2 after this game.

Please be as honest as possible. I genuinely want to improve, and whether I reach Diamond or not, I’m having a blast playing Overwatch and Juno.

Thanks a lot🙏🏻

PURE SATISFACTION

Not much to say, just that I love Juno 😍

Wanted to share this POTG because it felt so good, obviously thanks to the REIN!!!!

For context, I’m a plat 2 Juno trying to break into diamond, although I’m feeling I’m a bit stuck, so who knows😅

Still, Juno’s gameplay is so fun for me that it doesn’t matter!!!!

I just love Juno

By far my best result in comp with Juno, also a RAM main but I have to say im purely a Juno main!!!! Trying to get into diamond, although will be difficult.

Also just bought my first galactic weapon skin and obviously I had to buy it for her😍

For context, used to play when OW first came out, stopped for a long while and started playing again this February!

Feels amazing

PS: I definitely have to play more comp!
