6/22, AA142 JFK to LHR cancelled and immediately rebooked on AA9602. Flighty lists the tail numbers for both flights as the same so I am not sure about equipment change but I honestly don't know how accurate that is, if anyone can shed any light on that cancellation that would be cool.

Anyway, family of 3 booked some nice MCE bulkhead seats on the AA142 flight. Rebooked on the AA9602 flight and changed to back of the plane. We were still seated together, the flight left on time and we arrived safely. Which, you know, great.

Now find ourselves in a situation where we didn't fly on the seats we paid for - Main Plus fares are significantly (for us, anyway) more than Main.

For those that know more than me: are we entitled to...anything? I spoke to multiple people on the day of travel and was told that we had to complete travel to request any compensation. Spoke to customer service today and they confirmed we did not get the seats we paid for but they couldn't do anything? Filled out the compliments and complaints form but haven't heard back. Total first world problem, I know, but still frustrating that we didn't get the seats we paid for.
