Savings account promo offered to me, but not a new account?

I have been a customer with one of the big 5 banks for over a decade.

Last year, I opened a savings account because they were promoting an offer (4.5% over 3 months for opening a new savings account).

After the 3 months, I closed the savings account and transferred the money to a GIC which had a higher interest.

However, a few months later, my online banking showed a notification for the same offer (4.5% over 3 months for opening a new savings account). I accepted the offer and my bank's financial advisor said it was fine to do when I asked if it was allowed since I wasn't sure if it was technically a "new" savings account.

But is this commonplace?

Any eyeglasses stores that have lens tester?

I got a pair of hand-me-down “sunglasses” and would like to test how much UV they block if any.

My dermatologist had his RPN perform skin biopsy

Hi all,

I saw a dermatologist a few days ago for a body check and he circled three sites on my body for mole biopsy.

However, the dermatologist said a nurse will do it. I asked the dermatologist if he could do it and he said no and left the room. Being worried about cancer, I let the nurse perform the biopsy.

However, I realized after leaving the clinic that this was not even an RN, but an RPN.

Furthermore, my moles were numbered as 1, 2, 3 with containers labelled respectively (1 and 2 on my left arm and 3 on my leg). However, the RPN removed it via excision in a different order: 3, 1, 2. Could this have led them to put it in the incorrect container (I wasn’t looking because I am scared of seeing blood so couldn’t check)?

I’m feeling quite distressed because I wasn’t aware it was an RPN who performed the procedure.

What would you do if you were in my situation? I tried to call the clinic multiple times the day after without success (hoping to communicate my concern, but not even sure if there’s a solution).

Report to the College of Physicians? Have another dermatologist clinic RE-BIOPSY the three sites (which sounds scary for my body to be cut so many times)?

What do I do if I am worried that my food was tampered with?

I was ordering McDonalds and had to scream into the drive thru machine because my voice wasn’t going through. The employee on the other side seemed irritated.

Upon getting my order, I took a sip of my soft drink, and immediately feel like something smooth and round (similar to a small gel pill or corn) went down my throat.

I am worried they tampered with my drink (put a small battery, cyanide pill, etc - horror stories I hear about on the news) if they got disproportionately angry with me yelling out my order at the drive thru.

I do have anxiety, so would like some opinions about what you guys would do. Would you go to the emergency department or report to public health/the McDonalds?

Social worker wanting to break into EC

I am currently working for the federal government as a social worker (indeterminate, full time, regional office). However, my goal is to become an EC-05 (indeterminate, full time, Ottawa).

I partially qualified in EC-04 and EC-05 pools (defence and security departments) but never got further interviews from them. I currently only have 1 econ course on my transcript and I recognize that ECs have a “stats, econ, psychology specialization” requirement. I fear that may be the reason why I’m not getting hired from the pools.

Question 1: Should I do a master’s? I’ve been considering MPPA or something in “stats, econ, psychology” to add more “specialization” to my educational qualifications.

Question 2: Are there any master’s programs that I can complete without having to quit my current job?
